Step 4 lead me to a different answer, which might help other people. So I went to the Speaker icon, right clicked on it, selected the "Sounds" option, clicked on the "Recording" tab, right clicked on the microphone option, selected "Properties, " went to the "Levels" tab, and saw the audio icon by the microphone volume had a dashed red circle right by it. This means my microphone was somehow muted. I clicked on it to toggle to the volume back on, pressed "OK, " and now my microphone works again. Thank you for making this video regardless, because without your easy to comprehend steps I would have NEVER thought to look there.

So I was encountering the same issue, and I stumbled across a solution which worked for me (Windows 10):

1. Open the app/game where you aren't experiencing any mic output
2. Hit the Window logo key; search Settings > Sound.
3. Under 'Advanced sound options' select 'App volume device preferences'
4. For the app where you're experiencing issues, change the input from 'Default' to your microphone of choice.

Make sure that the app which you wish to make changes to is currently running in the background, otherwise it won't appear in this settings menu.

guys if you cant understand in 1:57 follow this steps.
1. Open Settings
2. Go to Home
3. Open Privacy
4. Search "Sounds"
5. Click "Change System Sounds"
6. You are now there and Finish.

On Microsoft Teams my mic don’t work and it says that is “on” when I go to settings but it still does not work. and there’s a small camera on the bottom of my computer.. that’s the only camera that turns on. I think the problem is the school computer honestly 🤷🏽‍♀️
