FIX Microphone Not Working on Windows 10 | 3.5 mm 3 or 4 Pin

How to fix microphone not working on Windows 10 easily. The 3 or 4 pin mic may stop working without any reason or after Windows updates. You may have a headset with a mic or a standalone mic and these may not work on the single combo jack of your laptop.
If you just have a mic then it should work with the TRRS jack of your laptop.
Even you can connect a 4 pin headset to the dual audio jack of PC or laptop.

This video solves the mic related issue with your laptop/PC doesn't matter if you have a 3.5 mm 3 Pin mic or 4 pin mic headset. OR USB mic in some cases.

The most common problem is that earphones not working on a laptop having Windows 10 or Windows 11. The speakers may work but the mic doesn't work.

This can happen to any headphones with a mic.

Get the splitter cable to connect 3.5 mm mic and headphone to combo jack-

Get dual 3 Pin TRS to Single 4 PIN TRRS adapter-

I just want to give you a big thank you hug. I bought some skull candy earbuds for my laptop so I don’t have to use discord on my phone because I didn’t have headphones that worked with the pc, and I noticed the mic in the earbuds were not working. I looked up a video about “why doesn’t my earbud mic work” and saw a video and it said you need to buy an external cable and other crap like that and then I came across this video and it saved the day, after I uninstalled the Realtek drive, my mic was working perfectly.

Thank you very much, this tutorial helped me solve the problem. I needed to reinstall the Realtek HD audio software on Asus X540SC, now the computer detects the device when it is plugged to the jack port, the Realtek software asks if the device is a headset, a mic or speaker, so i can select and then it works fine.
