oh. my. god. you saved me. twice! i fixed the issue by updating the driver on my old pc and now on my new one...this was literally THE ONLY SOURCE i found with suggestion to update driver to high definition audio and it worked(otherwise the sound was VERY quiet with all settings maxed)

Still doesnt work. Ive updated and reinstalled the drivers. I bought a new mic and still nothing. The PC says the mic is in use but wont detect any audio input. Ive done EVERYTHING, checked the levels, mic privacy settings EVERYTHING. Why wont it work? It started right after using sleep mode. Dell XPS 8940, what a piece of crap!!!! Someone please help me I cant talk to my teammates.
