A power nap is a short nap which utilises the first two stages of sleep, and ends before the occurrence of stage 3 slow-wave-sleep (a.k.a deep-sleep). Individuals who awaken during this slow wave phase often report feeling tired, groggy and unfocused. This audio will allow you to powernap for the optimal duration and awaken you before the onset of deep sleep with a digital alarm clock recording

Use headphones, listen a comfortable volume, and try to fall asleep within the first 10 minutes. Some people can mimic the regenerative effects of a powernap through deep states of meditation, so it may not be necessary for you to actually fall asleep, but instead 'dream awake'. It's recommended that you experiment and find which method works best.

Stage 1 Sleep (5-10 minutes): From 10hz (Alpha) to 5hz (Theta) - Transition period between wakefulness and sleep. Individual can be easily awakened.

Stage 2 (20 Minutes): 4hz (Theta) A period of light sleep - body temperature increases and heart beat slows down.

Deep sleep begins at stage 3 and Rapid Eye-Movement at Stage 4. This audio terminates before Stage 3 so you do not experience the grogginess associated with waking up during slow wave sleep.

The key to an effective powernap is to awaken before the onset of stage 3 sleep, aka 'slow wave sleep'. If you nap for the optimal duration you'll actually awaken feeling focused and energised as opposed to tired and groggy. See the description for details!

Excellent meditation. After some time, I snapped into a deeper consciousness and my body instantly felt super light. I think I would have projected if I ad more time. Now I feel rested, but still in that mesmerized zone. I'd love to see a longer version.

I enjoyed this. Drifted away for a time but the alarm brought me back to reality on time. Still hearing the oscillations though... maybe just put on something else and it’ll go away. Prob the first time I’ve consciously experienced half unconsciousness.

The description says "This audio terminates before stage 3." Does this mean I will awake after 31 minutes or will sleep untill I normally wake up? Thx in advance.
