When YAA began they were a reasonably reliable source for information on buying a car, at least for the uninformed. Sadly, YAA then began selling extended service contracts, their car buying assistance, and lately they are peddling insurance products. Such actions always end up breaking bad for a self-proclaimed consumer advocacy.

A few months ago I used YAA/Car Edge as an experiment when I was a looking to buy a new vehicle. All the information they provided was dubious at best. This included inventory at local dealerships w which did not exist and really bad pricing advice which was ludicrously off the real market.

The reality is most of the things they provide are simply rehashing of prior information. One day it is "buy a car now, the next day is wait to buy a car, the next day buy a car now" type of content.

My thought is anyone who pays YAA/Car Edge for their services is wasting their money. But they are not actually a scam.
