Just left a dealership earlier today. Hyundai venue, 23, 365 msrp. 2k mark up & 2k in add ons(1k paint protection, 500 for nitrogen in tires, 500 for brake lights to blink 3 times when hitting brakes). So 23, 365 went to 27, 365. 17% over msrp. Dealer gave us two options, 8.99% at msrp or 5.99% with 4k over. They would not budge on giving us the lower rate without the add ons(which weren’t even installed yet). Totally crazy. Walked out.

This is the reason why people hate going to a dealership!!

In the case of the parts that were replaced and upgraded, you should also get the original of those parts that are included in the MSRP. This is probably especially important for the wheels. I'm sure the original wheels are pretty valuable in their own right and you're paying for them. Same with the original shift knob, etc.

I’m binge watching your videos. I’m 53, I’ve bought about 20 cars in my life. I feel very confident about dealing with “stealers”, but your videos make me even more comfortable and confident. Appreciate you guys!

I saw this yesterday at the Toyota dealership. $0 listed as dealer markup, but every songle car had THOUSANDS of dollars in overpriced add ons most people wouldn't want. Same difference

I was talking to a salesman at a dealer in Waukesha Wi last weekend. I was lookint at a 2018 Grand Cherokee with about 80k miles, asking $40k. He asked if I was interested, I told him, "Not at that price. He said that's not the price I'd pay, so I asked him what's the "OTD" price.
He replied, "The MSRP?", to which I replied to him, "MSRP on a used car?".
That was about the end of the conversation.

If they will not remove the ridiculous mark-ups (that add NOTHING to the value of the car...I'm done! Politicians and Car dealers CROOKS with absolutely no shame!

When they added those wheels presumably they took off the factory-supplied wheels. If I’m paying for those upgraded wheels I want the factory-supplied wheels too.

When I was looking for a Mazda for my mom, I searched in Vegas and St. George. I told the St. George dealership that I would not pay their ridiculous addons. They absolutely refused to budge, so I bought the vehicle for way less at a Vegas dealership, and I didn't pay for the addons.

I've tried your consumer buying techniques and they worked. Bought a vehicle using your techniques and I got a car for the price I needed it. My credit score was 821 and I'm confused that the sales man said the best rates for my FiCO was 6.36 apr. I got 4.89 with a credit union. Your video helped me. Thank u😊

I was looking at the Honda Civic touring. They would not remove the addendum that marked the car up to $40k.
So I went next door to the Acura dealership, bought an Integra A Spec with zero markup. Paid $3k less than the Civic Sedan Touring.

Went to a Nissan dealership with add-ons and $2, 000 market adjustment. Told him I am not paying for the market adjustment or the add-ons, and his answer was, I want to sell a car so you don't have to pay them. A Honda dealership without market adjustments had several add-ons, including nitrogen in the tires and wheel locks, etc. I told her that I don't want the add-ons and will not pay for them. She said that they were already on the car and my response was I didn't ask for them and if they waited my money they would remove it. I walked out.

Wheels and tires are expensive, I would insist that since the original MSRP includes wheels and tires, and the dealer is then charging for a second set of wheels and tires, that I as the customer should get the car and both sets of wheels and tires!

The new Integra Type S comes with those parts like the wheels and shift knob, and the trim. TPMS is standard. How do you tack on extra money for that?
These dealerships are not going to last much longer

Love you guys! I have been watching every one of your videos to prepare myself for buying a used car. I was finally ready today to walk into a dealership alone and get a fair deal, no extras and I freaked them out in finance by paying cash! Thanks again guys, you rock!

Walk out. I do this all the time. The Dealership will say someone is also interested. Fine, they can have it.

MSRP Stands for manufacturers suggested retail price. It is a term the dealer should not use for pricing. In my area, the added sticker is called what it should be known as, dealer pack. Walk away.

The problem with these dealer "adjustments" is they typically won't negotiate with them because they know there is some fool out there that will come in and pay their ridiculous markup.
