My wife was absolutely a low-maintenance woman, with the one exception, based on Karyn’s criteria, of being woke-minded. That didn’t save me from experiencing all the issues Karyn describes in other videos, such as her withholding affection, kindness, love, and sex. It didn’t prevent her from blaming me for the things she was unhappy about in her life. It didn’t spare me from her gaslighting, emotional abuse, and manipulation. My wife was the definitive love of my life. We were together, including the time before marriage for 27 years. I adored her simply because she is. In contrast, for her everything was ultimately conditional. If only I did this, or that, or the other. And when I did, the bar always moved. In sum, I’d be lying if I said I ever want a woman around again to poison my happiness, calm and peace of mind. I’ve had my fill and am content to never be plagued by this trouble again.

I had given up on dating after two failed marriages to highly educated US women (a top MBA and an eye surgeon) and a subsequent 20 years of being single. Every woman I met was overweight, entitled, demanding and angry. Younger and attractive women weren't interested, despite me being good looking and very well off. So, I put a profile on an online Thai dating site. I (62) am now married to a gorgeous Thai woman (31) and living in southern California. Couldn't be happier. Guys, pay attention! The US women you want just aren't that interested. Why fish in a lake where the fish aren't hungry? Go where the fishing is good.

A big mistake we make as well is the sex before marriage. Now this is not the case for some but it is for many. When this happens, you fall in LUST for your partner. Lust does not last either. Sex can get in the way. Personal experience. As I said, this is not always the case, but it can be for many, and it applies to both sexes.

I have thought that your videos would be a good tool to one day help filter the girl I feel serious about, and today you have confirmed that :-) I am puzzled however by your suggestion for serious couples to live together before marriage. Sure, you get to know one another bettter but at the price of losing a level of respect and virtue. As a man of faith that fidelity speaks much more to me about the logevity of our commitment to each other than living for a time in phisical intimacy. I realize that this concern doesn't apply to most people today, perhaps I'm the only one left, but my puzzlement comes because you claim to be a woman of faith! Perhaps you're of a faith that doesn't believe in the Ten Commandments?
I don't intend to judge with my question, but I am always curious about how people think when their thinking seems to be cognitivley dissonant from my perspective. (Had you not claimed faith in God I would have no puzzlement and no reason to question your position, btw :-) Pleasee forgive if I have crossed your personal boundries...

I'd question the definition of a low-maintenance woman by how long she takes to get ready (because that's the point that you dwelled on a lot). It's not like we as men have to do anything for them in this respect - they're doing that kind of maintenance themselves :-D My definition of a low-maintenance woman is that she doesn't require a lot from us all the time, and doesn't see a man as responsbile for fulfilling all her needs and fixing all her problems. Low maintenance means she is self-sufficient and doesn't expect her happiness to come from her partner, and doesn't ask him to do all kinds of stuff for her all the time. She knows it's a give and take, and the amount of care and favours that she expects from her man is the same amount that she is lovingly ready to give.

Business owner here statistics i knew were that 50 percent of startups fail in the first 12 months an the 70 percent is longer term. The only challenge to the business analogy is that there really isnt a newlywed stage in business.

I agree a man should know who he is marrying, but disagree that living together is the way. Sex confuses things.

@thehappywifeschool great show as always. Knowing these read flags 27 years ago would have been great 😂 truth be told thoough the red flags that apply didnt get raised until after we were married. Another thought is that i feel like good men sometimes choose yo ignore a few red flags and let them go. Women tend to ignore the red flags they see and then can be sure to remind their man over and over through the years about the fact that they did.

The low maintenance topic is a bit tricky. On the surface it may sound nice like someone is not excessively concerned with how they look.

However, personal experience with a woman who deliberately devalued her appearance every day is quite different. When you have to ask and ask somebody simply to wear clothes that match and fit them, look nice for you, on purpose, and when they devalue their own appearance, their femininity and their sexuality and only give you the tiniest crumbs every day, then you long for a woman who actually values her appearance.

And on top of that when she guilt you for wanting her to be a woman or to be beautiful or sexy and makes you seem stupid or misogynistic or whatever for simply wanting what men want

And also, she is looking at things from a victim mindset and how you are mistreating her and other people, etc.
