Ally… I would never have thought about this aspect. Thanks to raise awareness to this. It is also necessary for the therapist to be not only informed, but versed in how the brains of neurodiverse people differ from neurotypical clients.

Where i live...you don't get to choose your therapist...you are lucky to find a therapist who is willing to take you on

I'm lucky, I feel happy to see my therapist for 8months now.

I always end up with therapists that enjoy laughing hysterically at my problems during sessions.

My search for a therapist has never led me beyond the proverbial rabbit hole. Yes, I've been in therapy most of my life. I think one of the biggest hurdles for me was being honest enough to admit that a person was not a good fit. But there are lots of other things, too. Honesty - I have found that I need someone who is honest with me. I can be charming and good at hiding stuff about myself. I need someone with the tenacity to keep probing to get at the truth. Of course, that leads to other issues. Am I ready to face whatever it is? Is there another approach that would work better on me? In many ways, I have become my own therapist. Of course, with the help of YouTube. (And Heidi Priebe)

Can you share some of the websites/resources you use to find articles posted by therapists? I don't typically consume that type of content, and when I do - the writers are rarely therapists. (Your book was actually a strong example, I resonated so much with what you wrote, and would love it if you were a therapist, but thats not the case! haha)

How would you recommend choosing a therapist if you can't find one who specializes or has experience in all of the topics you want to address? Should we choose a therapist who specializes in our #1 priority and then work with them in the other issues? Change therapists once the first issue is resolved? Work with multiple therapists at the same time?

Where have you been all my life??? I am so thrilled and fortunate you popped up in my feed. I will be meeting with a therapist soon who specializes in this. I hope she works out. I have so much work to do and have learned so much from you. Thank you. Signed, anxious preoccupied. 😊❤

10:41 (i don't know how to link to a specific time lol) : this line proves my point. we just need friends. people just are not willing to be real friends anymore. i guess it's just really hard to support one another in such a crazy world... :( i miss my friends so much.

Greetings young lady I found you on the internet. Have been in therapy for several years I am 67 and will need to be for the rest of my life. I found you researching the pentagram of life on the 17 signs of a 4. I have 2 of the finest almost in the area it has been very hard once I turned 65 to afford before insurance was fine. To sum up and to use basic language they after all the tests I have taken (you have to be prepared for bad news) I am the highest un-redemed type four they have ever met. That says it all! I need to find a new psychiatric MD I am terrified. Help! Thank you Ps I have been seeing these two men for almost 10 years

my ex-life coach was so authoritative according to her, for me she was plain rude, she was aggressive and would lash out on me if there was a tiny internet interruption during our zoom meetings, though it wasn't my fault, and she treated me like I owed her something, though I was paying her the absolute highest price a life coach gets (which she kept bluffing that she gave me an extra discount as a student, and that she charges way way more than that), especially because she was just 2 years into the coaching business. also i felt cheated, as she promised that I would become the person I visualized (through a visualization guided by her in our trial session) and I was well into my 4th month and still very much messed up.

but the lesson i have learned, I would NEVER EVER give my patients a less than X10 value of what they pay me, cz i never want any of them to feel the way I felt. I will work super hard in my naturopathic medicine degree, and I will go after the bottom of the cause of the disease and figure it out. I wont accept less than absolute successful healing modalities in my practice.

Your advice sounds real and good, but when you say we should be picking someone in the way we look for who we could be friends with: Well, I don't really have any real friends and this is one of the main problems I have. That I feel I can't connect with anyone :(

Should it matter the age yeara of experience and case's they are currently handling, and how long should the end point be?
