As stated in the caption and description, the world never saw those photos. Only two FBI agents were said to have ever seen those pictures. May they all rest in peace.

The people calling home to say goodbye- knowing they were about to die- still haunts me.

I was confused at first, until I realized this young man was inside the tower. The flames burning the woman’s lower legs, as she jumped with a fellow employee is mind blowing. There’s so much we’ve never, and will never see. RIP to those who passed that day, and from exposures, and decline in their health. My heart also goes out to All the Loved ones too

That one man who is jumping. With the orange shirt haunts me. He got up that morning. Tucked in his shirt, put his belt on and black shoes, probably drank some coffe and went up to work. Like a normal day. To see him jumping really hurts my soul. He had a family. He was someones son. Someones brother. Gosh. May him and the others rest in sweet peace.

I was a freshman in high school, 1st period, when 9/11 happened. I remember watching the coverage in class. It stuck with me, festering in me, and prompted me to join the Marines right out of high school. Many years and three combat tours later, I was in group therapy with a host of other Marines. One of them was part of the quick reaction force that responded to the pentagon attack. His story reinvigorated that feeling I had when I first decided to join. I could tell that after years, he still wasn’t over 9/11. It takes a long time to get back to a somewhat normal life after traumatic experiences, I know. But, you’ll never be the same.

There was a person that worked for my dad who became an airline stewardess. She kept in contact with my dad for many years after she quit working for him. I still remember when she called my dad and told him that she was schedule to work on one of the planes that crashed into the tower that day. She said that she woke up and started getting ready for work and had the biggest pit in her stomach. She told him that everything felt wrong that morning and she had body aches, chills, etc. She knew she wasn't sick, but was still trying to go to work that day. The final straw was her brand new car was dead. No electrical power, nothing!

She and everyone around her believes that God was protecting her that day. I still remember hearing her sobbing on the phone with my dad because she knew she would have been dead if she got on the plane. Just to add clarity, her father died years ago and my dad became a second dad to her.

Dennis G. Taormina is my cousin.
As a family member of a victim.
I not only want to see the photos. They should be published.

There was a story about the woman in the window, high up in one of the towers.
She looked out and was clearly coming to a decision.
She jumped.
As she fell, she was modest enough to use one hand to keep her skirt from climbing up her legs.
She tried to be as dignified as possible and keep some semblance of modesty.
That's one that will never leave.

My Mum and Nana took the ferry the day before 9/11 and had their pictures taken with the towers behind them.
The next day they were going to the top, but woke up to late as they were going back to Canada the same day so never made it back into NY.
My family didn’t know they were safe for 8hrs. The events of this horrific day will always stay in the minds of everyone that witnessed it and lost loved ones. Truly a dark day for humanity

My spouse worked two blocks away and was at work that day. His office was on the 24th floor of a high riser. When he made it home he told me how he and his colleagues watched people jumping from the world trade towers in disbelief!!! When the towers collapsed he said it was pitch black, and they had to hold hands and feel their way down the street to safety!!! RIP to all!!

My friend was in the second tower and she worked for Morgan Stanley. She is 4’10” and her size was a huge obstacle on its own. She has been through a private hell since that day. She said it was God alone that has helped her through all she’s been through. We cried like babies as we watched this unfolding. I will never forget it.

I knew someone on that second plane, UAL175. We only discovered that afternoon, after seeing the plane crash and explode in footage all day, that we had been watching the final moments of our friend and coworker on repeat all day.

The moments of that day are seered in my mind. I only recently realized how truly raw the emotions still are, some 23 years later. My family and I visited the Smithsonian last year in Washington. We saw the exhibit about war and military events toward the end of our visit. It was a pleasant day. When I turned the corner toward the end of the exhibit and saw the piece of the South Tower framing set in front of the famous photo of UAL175 exploding, I burst into tears and turned into a puddle right there in the middle of a crowd. The same emotions I felt at 3:30 that afternoon when we got the news he was on that plane instantly surfaced.

Time heals but time does not erase.

The brave guy had the presence of mind to take photos, so he WANTED them to be seen!
Nobody HAS to look at them (inc his relatives) but History OWES it to him to publish the photos -- as his last wish!

I worked with a girl who worked in one of the towers, I don't remember which one but her birthday was on 9/11. She and some friends had gone out to celebrate her birthday the night before and on the morning of her birthday, she called in sick (with the 3.2 flu, we used to call it). Calling in sick saved her life. Some of the friends she had gone out with the night before weren't so fortunate.

I'm from Australia and watched 9-11 on television when I was about 20 years old.

After seeing the people jumping to their deaths I legitimately could not sleep properly for a few weeks, I'd wake up 20+ times a night from the things I would dream.

Every time I closed my eyes all I could see was those poor helpless people trapped up there, and having to decide whether to burn or jump. I still have the occasional nightmare about it, even to this day.

I'll never forget there was an interview where they spoke to a NY firefighter, and his words were "How bad must it have been up there, that the better option was to jump"
His words will be turned into my memory for eternity. 😔

23 years later, there are people that are alive that only knows the stories. Those people will never know the horror and the fear of those that watched.

In fifty years, people will talk about it but, just like things in the past, others will say move on.

In one hundred years, people will say, "no one is alive that experienced that so why keep talking about it?"

After my brother passed at the age of 23, I was twenty-one, I walked outside to the world still moving. I asked, "why didn't everything stop...don't you know my brother just passed?" I realized then that the world moves on.

My heart aches for all of the trauma that these people and others have felt in the past due to forced tragedy because of hate.

Although the world moves on, no one should ever forget the past. If we forget what has happened, things will continue to get worse. None of the past should be forgotten. Everyone....Everyone is and will always be important. Everyone's life should have meaning.
