When we perceive that someone or something has an element of power or control over us, such as government, police, parental figures or experts we call this Authority. The way we perceive and therefore react to these authority figures in our adult life is dictated by the relationship we had with our primary authorities in childhood... our parents (adult caregivers).

I have a very unhealthy fear of Authority. This has helped me understand soooo much why I don't trust them and fear disappointing them or upsetting them my primary authority was an abusive Alchoholic father (verbally emotionally and physically sexually) my mom mentally ill with Schizophrenia, my aunt helped raised me and she was emotionally and financially abusive... people get mad at me for my worries at work with authority now I see it isnt me it's my projection of my childhood... I reached a point where I became the only authority in my life, which helped me to deal with the abuses I suffered in my tweeniehood at the hands of private security.. Actually come to think of it, nothing much has changed in the world - we all exist just above a very thin veneer of "freedom", yet what lurks just beneath that illusion is a ring of steel.

I just choose to focus on being the leader of my life. Since I am the leader of my life, I choose not to get my power to other people to control me.

Hi Teal! Great video. I can relate to what you're saying & all the points you have presented. In my childhood my parents were very strict authoritarians. That interactive relationship turned me into a rebellious soul. I then viewed everyone with authority as being on a egotistical power trip! This reaction continued for a time. Then as I matured & gained more experience in life I changed. I went into deep analytical thought about my relationships with every authority figure in my life. Long story short I realized that we alone give our power to authority. It is our responsibility to judge who is benevolent & who is not. We are never in a slave/subject relationship unless we alone consent to it. As long as we don't trespass and violate others we are free. In the end we alone should choose who we give or not to give our power to. Thanks for everything that you do! Peace & love ❤
