I don't get into arguments or debates about diets or dieting. All I can do is share from my personal experience.
I am a 70 year old man in decent health. I have no major maladies and take no medications. Counting calories has always helped me maintain a healthy weight. The only time I have been overweight is when I didn't count calories.
About 6 years ago I weighed 245 lbs. after about 5 years of not counting calories. I am 5' 10". So, I went back to my old mainstay, counting calories. Today I weigh 175 lbs. and have maintained this weight for over 2 years.

Calorie counting works and it's worked for many people. Google Maps directions estimated arrival time is not 100 percent accurate either, but it's accurate enough to know that if we leave early enough, we'll arrive on time. If we have a good deficit then we'll be certain to truly be at a caloric deficit.

Don't let this put you off counting calories. A calories deficit is how you lose weight. Period.

They say a Big Mac has 257 calories -nonsense! On McDonald's own website it says a Big Mac has 590 calories, so more than double what is cited here! If you want to educate people about calories at least get your facts right!!

Which slimming company paid these guys to spread lies? Calorie deficit is the only way to lose body fat.

So she brings up the thermic effect of food as a reason not to count calories? If anything if means you can't more effectively diet by establishing a deficit and also eating whole foods that have a higher TEF..

Telling people "calorie counting doesn't work" is keeping people just as fat as the processed foods themselves.

For weight loss I'm eating at a calorie deficit whilst eating healthy and clean during the week and i've allowed myself a couple of cheat meals on the weekend. It's working for me.

I do not agree with her. She states that “because the number of calories reported on most product is not fully accurate and as a result calorie counting for the purpose of weight loss is not worth it”. I will say this, if you try your best to count your calories and stay below a goal you set for yourself, as long as you eat frequently and do not starve yourself, you WILL LOSE WEIGHT. I’ve lost 20 pounds so far, just doing that, and I’m never hungry

Agreed... 1000 calories Carbohydrates vs 1000 calories Protein vs 1000 calories Fats are processed differently in our bodies. So, what matters is not calories, but the composition of food...

calorie counting is just maths. Sure it might not be 100% accurate and can lead to unhealthy choices (you can absolutely lose weight eating only biscuits) but it works to lose weight for the vast majority of people, if you at least rougly measure your calories correctly.
This idea that 'science doesn't support calorie counting' is total nonsense.

for ME, i have to count the calories!
im over weight and i have to watch what im eating or if i slip i could gain more weight !
if you gain a lot of weight, your organs shift, your bones get weak for some reason -i have herniated disc and bulging disc
and most of MY trouble was from NOT watching what i was eating,
i had quit smoking and gained 50 pounds and if i knew i was going to do that -i would have kept smoking!
just kidding . hahahaha
