The 8 Things:
#1 Have an elevator pitch for yourself
#2 Knowing you don't have to be rich to start your own project
#3 Create a personal vs internet life
#4 Pick the few things you do well and forget the rest
#5 Focus less on perfection and more on "cluster talents"
#6 Identify very important gaps
#7 Get creative about compensation
#8 Network in a way that actually works

I’ve been crying at my desk today thinking about how much I hate working for this company. Thank you for the motivation to move up and on, needed it!

Realizing your full potential is like realizing your chores, there's a lot more of it then you think and its pretty much limitless!

I needed to hear #4. I've started to set boundaries because I noticed people expecting me to take on more and more of their work, but I was feeling incredibly guilty about it. Not any more! It's better for me, my mental health and my career to set boundaries! 😀

I want to say thank you... I've spent waaay too much time in my head, trying to understand what's wrong with me (imposter syndrome? Severe anxiety? PTSD? Severe ADHD? On the spectrum?). I randomly came across a vid literally looking for financial tips and ended up discovering some emotional/mental issues I was never able to articulate. So thank you!! 😭 Literally the happiest and greatest discovery for me was realizing I'm actually supposed to be a powerhouse, not someone trying to force happiness and telling themselves they met their capacity. Anyway, this is another vid kicking my butt lol

Chelsea: “...ultimately people have a very short attention span”
*me as I’ve already started to flick through the comments*

Your family sounds so creative and entrepreneurial! I would *love* to see more content geared towards those who are self-employed creatives (artists, illustrators, writers ect) :)

RE #5- spreading your knowledge out- I have found a few times in my career that doing that actually made me better at the single skills that I was a "specialist" in. Spreading your knowledge out very much helps you gain perspective and additional knowledge in how your specialty fits into the whole scheme of things. Which, IMHO, make you better at that skill, too.

Chelsea, it is so nice to see you back! I love your videos! Can you please make something about financing products for immigrants (I mean non-permanent residents)? My husband has DACA and that makes mortgages unavailable to us. Technically many banks "support DACA, " but practically they always find a way to refuse the mortgage for bogus reasons. The last one we got preaproved for, send us a refusal letter with "no appraiser available in your area" after few days post preaproval:)) Some people just hang up half way when we mentioned DACa :)But we got used to it. When you search online, the Google tells you that DACA can can get mortgage, but it is almost impossible to find a bank that explicitly states that "we will give you mortgage" and follows through with it.
By the way, since you mentioned that you are from NC, greetings from the Outer Banks!

Having those separate accounts is a great idea. So hard when those lines are blurred.

Good points. Sometimes we lose focus on what we can achieve and taking a step back is important

its a beautiful area of your home, love it! you are so right about using what you have to start your own small business, even if it can only be part time at the moment. this will give you the ability to choose the right projects for you while also giving you the skills and knowledge to withstand lows that come and go in business.

Such a good tip to not feel like you have to take on everything -- I wish I could play that part of the video for my boss lol. I feel like a lot of start-ups struggles with feeling like they need to do everything when they only have a tiny team to do those things.
