I've been in Toronto for 30 years. Video is accurate. If you're moving here, be prepared to spend a lot of money on everything...and traffic. It takes long to get anywhere here...whether you're driving or taking public transit. Very bike friendly and downtown is quite walkable.

Fun fact: Toronto is actually the most diverse city on Earth, if you call for an ambulance they can have someone speak to you in 240 different languages.

I was pleasantly surprised by how well this was put together but was even more surprised by how shiny and clean you made my city look! Maybe I'm just jaded by all the construction going on in my area.

As a Canadian living, working and now retiring in Toronto, this video describes it well. I value the diversity. Every race creed and culture is well represented and live in relative harmony. That brings me to my second thing, the food. In the US immigrant cultures are more assimilated into an American culture. In Toronto it is a collage of native cultures and with that comes the restaurants and grocery stores that cater to the world cuisine.

After that, I appreciate the neighborhoods and parks. I live steps from the Humber river and therefore have miles of nature trails with everything from rustic forest by the river to manicured gardens. I also love High Park. And then the lake shore.
It is a great place. But it's expensive, and you have to look for the good stuff. It's not particularly attractive unless you venture out to search for all the little nuggets of greatness.

Great review of the city. Its one of the few places where you can literally get anything and everything. Indian, Chinese, Greek, Italian, Portuguese its an amazing fusion of cultures and nationalities. Keep up the great work

also important to note - subway/street closures are regular, it's cheaper to uber everywhere around the city than pay for parking/insurance and there are a lot of great sub $1000/mo houses in great locations if you're willing to share common spaces

This was a fun video; thank you for that. My colleagues who have moved to Toronto from the Middle East and are used to temperatures above 100F cannot believe how hot Toronto gets in the summer. They say they have never experienced heat like it. The humidity makes it harder to do anything.

Really nice video, especially when you talk about the high cost of living. For the summer, I would emphasize how bad the humidity is. Those humid days make being active a chore. You become a pool of sweat just being outside doing nothing which is difficult if you like playing sports. For people moving to Toronto from a dry heat, the humidity is a big change. Yeah it is not humid everyday during the spring and summer but air conditioning is still a must if you are in an apartment. Without air conditioning, the heat could lead to some sleepless nights.

Toronto has been my home for 60 years. My favourite green spaces are Harbourfront, the Toronto Islands, Woodbine Beach, The Music Garden, Sugar Beach, High Park, Bluffers Park and Cherry Beach. Downside of Toronto: Downtown street parking is now $6.50 for 30 minutes, although you can find underground parking for $8 an hour.

I live in Toronto and I would like to say two:
1. summer could be like tropical cities such as Bangkok and Jakarta. It's better to wear swimming suits on summer weekends and jump in to swim and then hanging aorund.
2. E-bike and scooter is useful because public transit system can be expensive.

That was fun. I miss Toronto. You're right about prices for housing. I lived in the Beaches. A friend a few doors down sold his 2 bedroom for 1.3 million. I didn't get that much for my 2 bedroom, but got enough to buy a 4 bedroom Victorian in Belleville, plus paid my electricity water, and taxes a couple of years in advance, while having zero income.

I lived in Toronto for ten years. There are challenges with finding work and I don't plan on moving back. I enjoyed exploring the various neighborhoods.

Don't forget the Theatre District in Toronto's Entertainment District, which also is the third largest English-speaking theatre district in the world, after West End in London and Broadway in New York. You can pretty much catch the same shows in one of many historical theatres in the Theatre District, including the mentioned Roy Thompson Hall (also used for musicals, plays, along with the usual schedule of orchestras and choirs), and the oddballs like Massey Hall and Ed Mirvish (because they are physically located outside the theatre district), that are already shown stateside and across the pond, in addition to some awesome "Canadian"-produced works (e.g. Come From Away, Anne and the Green Gables: The Musical)

Great job! I have lived in Toronto for 10 years. You summarized it very well. One thing I want to add is that I am a biker and lots of people bike in Toronto too. Well, it's not for everyone though since some people might find it scary.
