Man changing to just weighing in grams is a huge change. People would be surprised hope over or under they are eating. Grams definitely the way to go.

There are a lot of people who say “hey I loss weight and I didn’t count calories” or “just eat healthy and exercise it’s that simple” etc. they’re not wrong and if it works for them great. However in my experience it’s all about efficiency. I loss 20 pounds over a 4-5 months barely counting calories. I just ate less and exercised more. But now that I started to count calories and I lose weight almost 3x as fast. In 5 weeks I loss 8 pounds. You don’t have to count calories but if you can everything starts making sense and his way in particular works best

Also something i missed at first that might be helpful is i wouldnt track "small" foods like my daily coffee. Turns out I was like 150 cals off every day cause of that 😅

Also, standardizing your personal coffee recipe so you can add it to your meal plan is a time saver. Im 60g half and half, 10gs honey every day lol I dialed it in so I don't have to think about it

Unless you need to hit a specific target by a specific date, I think this approach to nutrition is a misallocation of time and energy that could be better spent doing things in other areas of your life to improve yourself.

I definitely learned from you count in grams. Also, how to read the grams outside of the suggested cup or halfcup recommendations. This week has been eye-opening of calorie intake. Thank you

What about butters and oils you cook with?

The caloric value on most food labels in the US are 20% off in either direction. You could be eating 20% more or less than you think but usually you're eating more.

If you cannt cook for yourself alone, and so cannot weigh your food raw, here's a simple trick to know the conversion between your raw and cooked foods (depending on how long and how you cooked it)
Start by weighing out all your pans, and any time you cook, weigh all the raw stuff you're gonna cook, then weigh the pan and the food (you cannot only weigh the food itself, unless you take all the food out of the pan, and put it back in, wich can take time, and the other people wouldn't want to wait several minutes that you do your thing before eating), then substract the pan's weight you already know, and divide the raw weight with the cooked weight. So all you need to do is weigh the food you're about to eat, divide it by the previous result : for instance, if i had 300 grams of chicken and cooked it is 250 grams, i do 300/250, wich is 1.2, and if i eat 120 grams of chicken, i multiply it by 1.2, so i know i just ate 144 grams of raw chicken, while never have weighed the raw portion i ate.

Why can’t I just measure it with cups? I have a 1/4 cup, a 1/2 cup, and a cup. What difference does it make?

you need to track the oil, butter or other sauces you cook with, as well as condiments and whatever goes into your coffee or tea etc.

Pls tell me. I am desperate. So If I make a meal that I found on the internet, some recipe, I make a cake for example, it says it is 1000kcal whole. If I want to take a piece how to count how much is that one piece from it???

Can you do a video on how to track calories with a recipe? That's where I give up since it doesn't have a clear label with everything spelled out 😢

I just read the label get an estimate and always round up everytime just in case. if you keep it at around 1600 to 1800 calories a day, you will almost always be under the limit. I dont reccomend this for maximum efficiency, or if you dont gave a decent fat buildup but if you are a busy person or dont want to weigh every meal, then this is the way to go.
