I never knew just how to respond to a compliment, I always felt uncomfortable. Now I know to say, a simple "thank you " & realize that it's okay to accept a compliment. Thanks again Dan!

As a young woman I couldn't handle a compliment. And now I just respond with thank you for that. It meant a lot to me. Because it really does.

I usually say, "thank you for noticing" or "thank you, I appreciate that".

In my country it was perceived to be arrogant to say thank you. But I"m over that weirdness now. I got it from Dan O'Connor.

I really struggle with accepting compliments so I really needed to hear this advice. I love how you said it honors the one giving the compliment to accept it gratefully. I am really trying train myself to respond with “thank you for saying that, you are very kind to say so.” And then I try to give a compliment back to them.

Great advice!

Thank you for this reminder to accept a compliment graciously. Most of the time I do but not always so that nod will help to make it a habit. Your videos are helpful. I especially appreciate some of these shorter videos when I have less time. Please consider adding more of these 4-8 minutes videos. The longer ones of course are valuable as well and I enjoy watching them when I have more time.

I like to say "Thank you, that's very nice of you to say so ". Return a compliment with a sincere compliment.

Hope you can help much love from Egypt!

great to know. I wish I heard this when I was much younger. Tilting the head is pretty important step, too!

Thank you for this! Yesterday I recieved an indirect compliment about my charisma among friends, all of which who agreed, and I couldn't find the confidence to respond. I focused elsewhere and got lost in my thoughts - whether I deserved the compliement and if I wanted to react positively to encourage people to compliment me or not. I've found in North American culture; not a lot of people can teach us how to respond to compliments gracefully and this was really helpful.

Earlier in life: I didn't receive many compliments. So, as I'm older, I struggle accepting them. I know I come across as use to it to the point of not giving a care, but that too can be insulting.

Nodding should help, though.

Dan you are absolutely so intuitive and brilliant! I have one more year left of the worst toxic work environment imaginable. I need my benefits for another 12 months from this stupid company. Thank you so much for your guidance and support. ❤️
