For those concerned and confused or just curious, she’s specifically referring to autophagy fasting to extend those benefits as long as you can. During your eating window, you need WAY more protein than 20 grams to ensure you do not lose muscle mass. If you limited your protein to 20 grams a day, you’d lose so much muscle mass. There are so many benefits to both autophagy fasting and getting in enough protein during your eating window. Combine these every week and your metabolism will thank you!! ❤❤❤

As a guy, I find the protein aspect of this fast the hardest part. Initially, I thought that I would only do the fast and not the diet; however I found a few meal plans that I could live with for the week. It's day 3 and this is getting so much easier. I've been practicing various fasts since early November 2021. I've "freed" some fat and I feel like my mood has improved.

With this month's fast, I decided to add Dr. Mindy's bile push as well. So far so good. I'm eager to see what happens, but I feel great.

Thank you Dr. Mindy! You're videos really are helping me change my life. Thank you for phrasing "Fat is literally saving your life." This phrase impacted me to my core and was exactly what I needed to hear. THANK YOU!

Thanks for the video, Dr. Mindy. Did you mean keeping protein under 20gm during the eating window or during the 17 - 24 hours of fasting window? If it is during the eating window, when shall I bring the protein back up to normal level if I do 18/6 daily?

Thanks Doc. Went over protein limit thinking I was doing okay but I’m so used to eating much more. I’m going to do it though. Got 3 more days to figure it out. Think I’ll focus on drinking LMNT but I’m on my last pack. I didn’t plan in time. 😞

I am a bodybuilder, do I need MTOR for building muscles or do I need autophagy by keeping my protein under 20 gm. Really confused.

I think I can do that. I. just need to find a tool to calculate how much protein is in certain foods. I'm hanging in there with the 17 hour fasting window though. It's not as hard as I thought it would be. Thanks!!

Could explain. 20gr daily? If you are building muscle and they say eat as much protein as your weight. Also on your 6 different Styles of Fasting sheet you wrote 50gr of protein for fast #1 but on the new book fasting like a girl you say 75gr. What is it? Please clarify the discrepancy.

I found it difficult to get the 50g of carbs without going over 60% fat. Protein wasn't to hard to do.

I did this today. I came in at 21 grams of protein. I'm not happy and I'm going to bed. I broke my fast with half an avacado, waited an hour, then had a blueberry smoothie w/plain whole milk yogurt instead of Greek yogurt to cut down on protein (also no protein powder obviously) with the remaining half of the avacado with which I broke my fast, a serving of pistachios and another avacado. I can't wait for Saturday (no fasting). 🤣

Does this mean no more than 20 grams during the day after the fasting period? It's no good just saying "keep it under 20 grams"
