What Is A Super-set? What Is Supersetting?

A superset is common method used in many muscle building and weight loss programs to get more work done in less time.

Here's how to do a superset...

Basically what you do is pair two or more exercises back to back without taking a break, or a very short one.

As you see in the video all the reps for each exercise are done before moving to the next. Little or no rest is taken between exercises.

Once you have completed the repetitions for the exercises you have selected. In this case it was the split squat and DB chest press, your superset is complete.

Take a short rest between super sets, about 30 - 90 seconds and repeat. do this until you have done 2 - 5 sets for each exercises.

Superset Pairings

The best supersets are no competing.
That means one muscle group gets to rest while the other works. Here are a few examples.

Upper and lower.
Just like in the video, Craig does a lower body exercise followed by an upper body exercise.

You can also do a push pull superset.
Here you would do and upper body push exercise followed by and upper body pull exercise.

The third type you can do is a full body super-set.
Here you do a leg exercise, upper body pull and an upper body push.

Supersets allow you to get more work done in less time. This helps boost your metabolism, and allows you to get the same amount of work done in a shorter period.
