Done that for 40 years. I am now retired and sleeping in to 8 AM everyday and loving it! Wish I had started this earlier!

I wake up at 5 and I’m working out by 5:30. Walking/running in the morning when no one else is out is motivating.

One of my best moments was sitting in a hot tub on vacation and watching the sunrise. I will never forget that feeling of relaxation. Once I felt that, I now crave it. For me getting up earlier just helps reduce the stress of being in a hurry to get out the door for work. Being up before the kids also helps gain focus on the day ahead.

Love this! Thank you as I have been really struggling since pandemic to get back into exercise and my health is suffering because of it. The only time I have is in the morning. This has definitely motivated me.

It depends on the time of year but I've been getting up later (7am) and going to bed later, and I'm sleeping better. I think it gives me longer to unwind and digest my last meal. Also getting up before everyone else in the house feels kind of lonely!

Thomas's subtle "TPS Reports" reference was this peak moment of personal engagement between the video and myself that I'll not soon forget.

I’ve been a competitive athlete all my life. I’ve been getting up relatively early and after 2 kids I wake up even earlier now. Not crazy early but around 5-6am I’m out doing my daily workout, preparing for work or doing house chores. I do IF as well & I prefer breakfast and lunch. I don’t eat dinner unless it’s a family gathering or special occasion. Then I fast the next day. People think I’m crazy but I’ve never felt or looked better at 40

It's the meta videos like this that make your content very well-rounded Tom! I think the biggest part of this would depend on someone's work schedule or lack thereof. I love Huberman's content about the things to do in the morning to make your day great, number one almost always being getting that sunlight into your eyes first thing in the morning after you wake up... Not that Huberman insists to do this but, after wearing sunglasses most of my life I do not wear them anymore. This allows my eyes to soak in the light from the sun no matter what time of day. Squinting gets the job done and my sleep has been better and deeper leaving the sunglasses at home.

The morning fasted workout is my favorite kind of workout. My appetite is destroyed most of the day until I decide to eat out of what time it is versus being hungry while at work. Intermittent and prolonged fasting have really destroyed my hunger even after I take breaks from it for a while. Totally not complaining, just saying I don't eat breakfast not just because I'm waiting to eat to break my fast but also because I'm absolutely not hungry at all...

Personally, 4 am works best for me. Been working out between 4-5 am since 2017. This allows me to keep my evening free for spouse and family. Agree with many of the points stated in the video.

I do wake at 5am, light exposure by 5.30am, walk at 6am. Coffee at 7.30am and 11am. OMAD between 8.30 am to 10am. Bed at 9.30pm

This only means something if you've managed to get a good night's sleep. If you went to bed at 10pm and slept all the way through, then fine. If you gonto bed at midnight, like me and wake up 3 or 4 times during the night, even getting up at 7am is a struggle.

I get up at about 5:15am during the lighter morning months, but later during the darker winter months. If you get up at 5am during winter, the chances are you'll need to put your lights on, and that might disrupt your circadian rhythm.

love this video! Start with the minimum viable outcome. I recently learned this with tidying up 🧹 the house. Enormously happy with that.

I can't stay awake all day. I need a nap. My hours are all over the place.

I love getting up at 5. I enjoy the time I have for myself… in this season I drink my coffee on the balkony watching the sun rise. I like it through out the week, even on weekends☺️ the kids get up at 6. If I didnt get up that hour befor the kids I might not feel ready for them yet. If the time between getting up till starting to work is too short, I feel as if I‘m missing something. And yes, I like that I‘m not somebody who wakes up late to have stress already in the morning just to have some more time in bed.
But I‘m glad I‘m the only one getting up at 5 in our family, otherwise I would have to get up even earlier☺️

Thomas - I enjoy your content. I'm writing this in my Theta state :) Have you looked into providing a 'full life cycle' series? Phase I - Incline, focusing on puberty to early adulthood. Phase II - Plateau, mid 20's to mid 40's and Phase III - decline from mid 40's onward (that's where I am). While diet, exercise, & lifestyle choices may be the fundamentals for all 3 phases - the strategy should be different for each phase in providing the best in physical, emotional & mental health. With obesity & mental health issues on the rise - people are looking for a beacon of trustworthy guidance.
