How to Make Butter in a Jar - Homemade Butter

Показать описание
Making butter in a mason jar is a fun and easy project to do at home. It takes only three things, heavy cream, a mason jar, and some muscle.

Fill the quart mason jar with one cup of heavy cream. The heavy cream should be about 55 - 60 degrees. The warmer temperature will make the process go quicker.

To finish making the butter, shake the jar of cream until the butter forms.

I truly respect that you put your heart and sole into that shake, with no regard for hairstyle or facial contortions.

Excellent video Sir, you explained so it well my friend! I got stuck with a jar of thick whipped cream but you explained what would happen after that step. I'm now the proud owner of home made butter! So cool!

Took a while longer for me and had to add a little milk to get the thick mixture moving. Used the buttermilk in some homemade bread! Great video thanks!

I been doing this for years ! why buy shop bought butter with added rape seed oil for 4 times the price that you can make real butter. I also make my own breads same again 4 times cheaper with no added crap. This home cooking is something we need the schools to teach our kids. Believe it or not some people think home cooking is warming up a ready meal im not joking !! ohh and great video !

Thanks Tim. I used an old pickle jar, 1/3 pint of whipping cream, and some muscle. 3 minutes later, I found butter heaven. I'm thinking garlic butter for the next batch.  Thumbs up brother!!!

Its important to squeeze all the extra moisture from the butter to give it a longer shelf life. This can be attained with any cloth, but the best is to use cheese cloth. Wrap it around the butter and squeeze to extract as much liquid as possible.

Brilliant! Your washing and salting method. Definitely using it! But, the shaking phase, I kinda skip that by putting the jar into my purse and taking a walk for an errand or whatever. Cuts out 80-90% of it! Sooo much easier.

I am doing this today! Great great video. Butter is getting more expensive, and less "good". I'm going to make my own and I cannot wait to eat it! I love toast and butter.

Very helpful. Thank you so much for your easy to follow directions. I'm looking forward to making butter and surprising my family with the butter, and my mother-in-laws homemade buttermilk biscuits.

LOL Thanks for the video we had fun and he was very proud that he made his own butter for his side of mashed potatoes. :)

This was a very helpful instruction and demonstration on how to make butter. I used your instruction to make butter with elementary aged kids. Very successful and a lot of fun. It also tasted good on warm french bread. Thanks for the instruction.
