Making homemade butter is strikingly easy. All you need is a food processor, 2 ingredients, and you're good to go. Oh and of course you can be extra like me and smoke your butter for some more interesting flavors. Smoked, cultured, homemade butter. You just can't say no to that. Especially if it's just barely melting over a nice piece of sourdough bread or an english muffin. Yeah...I like dat.

Ingredients you'll need:
1qt (946ml) heavy cream (low temp pasteurized)
3.5 tablespoons (51ml) cultured buttermilk

My mom has been doing this for all these years. She takes an extra step and cooks the cultured butter and transforms it into homemade GHEE.

Made this and sandwiched the butter between 2 pieces of kombu. Results were quite good! And this is a super easy technique to make butter.

I've made my own butter a few times, but I've never had cultured butter... I have a vacation coming up next week and this recipe has just been added to the 'gotta do' list!!!

This came out amazing! I'm never buying butter again! 2 tablespoons of buttermilk in a pint of cream is the perfect ratio for me, and it legit made me about a week's worth of the best butter I've ever had. All hail Joshua for his sage advice lmao

I didn't exactly follow this recipe, but I used the food processor idea! Usually when making homemade butter I just give it a good shake in a jar, this was much easier on me and worked much faster! One second it would be milk, the other whipcream, one second its whipcream, then its butter! Incredible to watch in real time. You can also run the processor a little farther than what he did until the buttermilk starts to separate. You'll see a liquid suddenly rise between your bits of butter and nearly cover all of the solids. That's when you know you're ready for the next steps

My granny used to make fresh butter every night for us to eat in the morning... she used to use whole milk and add a little bit of curd in a bottle and shake the living hell out of it!.... fresh butter tastes good!
