As a physical therapist, I work with a lot of people for a lot of reasons.

As a very general rule, most of the problems you have or will encounter in your body can be solved with one of two recommendations.

Stretch the areas where you are tight.

Strengthen the areas where you are weak.

In this video, I’m sharing 8 of the best stretches to help you to improve your overall flexibility and mobility.

In fact, to create this video I simply selected the 8 stretches that I give to patients the most often in my clinic and pressed “record”!

These are wonderful stretches that help to improve mobility in the spine, upper body, and lower body, and are incredibly effective at helping to reduce pain and increase function/activity.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I STRETCH
You should come back and perform these exercises at least once every single day to achieve maximum benefit and effectiveness.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO SEE RESULTS
This is always a hard question to answer because it depends on so many factors. How long you’ve been tight, your age, your health, your activity level, etc all play a role in how quickly you will respond to the stretches demonstrated in this video.

For most people, you should start to see an improvement within about 4-6 weeks of consistently performing these exercises.

This routine should take approximately 10 minutes to get through from start to finish.

3. CAT / COW (1:51)

4. HIP FLEXOR STRETCH (3:12)

5. NECK AND UPPER BACK EXTENSION (4:23)

6. CHIN TUCKS (6:09)

Awesome video! At 57, I am learning that there is more to life than cardio and that I must intentionally stretch and strengthen EVERYTHING and IN EVERY DIRECTION in order to have fewer aches and pains.

I slept wrong, so my neck and shoulder are knotted and messed up. I also worked a 12 hour day and I am extremely tight and in pain. I did every stretch in the video and I feel exponentially better now, I will be doing these tomorrow, and hopefully every day as well thank you so much for making this! Subscribed, and will definitely will be checking out more of your content!

HOLD 20secs 3x each side
• 1:47 piriformis hip stretch
HOLD 20secs 3x each side
• 3:09 cat/cow pose
HOLD 5-10secs repeat 30times
• 6:02 thoracic extension stretch

Very good video. Be very careful if recovering from an injury though. I was recovering well from a leg strain. I was doing glute exercise, on my back on the floor, pulled back my knee twords the opposite shoulder. No pain at all but I had strained something under my knee that left me in pain for two days
