You really have to not know your chemistry if you only get a 1 or a 2 on the AP exam. So yes it’s fair.

Honestly, it’s a fair score. Is the test difficult compared to the course? Yeah. Is the content difficult to understand? Not if you’re spending a good amount of time understanding the concepts instead of trying to memorize equations

This is my teacher’s first time teaching AP Chem..I’m getting a 1. Tried to teach myself while keeping up with the material and it was almost impossible w/o someone who understands it well😭😭

AP chemistry is one of the hardest APs, but I really can’t fathom how you can get that low of a score while still getting to May with the class. The first practice test I took was a 4, so I hope I do well.
Update: I got a 5

It's definitely doable to get a 3 and above so it's fair. AP chemistry, Physics, and calculus requires studying the AP practice exams.

I think getting a 5 on the AP Chemistry exam is tough compared to many other AP classes, but if you understand chemistry and put in some effort, it's relatively easy to pass. So, if you end up with a score of 1 or 2, it likely means you didn’t put much effort into the class.

No. It’s not fair. They should’ve received a better education so they can understand and master the material.

The AP chem exam is extremely easy tbh

I think it’s fair. I don’t expect to do exceptionally well, even though I excel academically, because my teacher did not teach us the material well. We are on unit 5 of 9 and are 1 month from the test. So yeah, I don’t think it’s the exam, I blame the class I’m in. For people with better educators I don’t think the test would be unreasonably hard to at least pass. I’m going to do as much self study and learning as humanly possible to try and get a 5 but we’ll see.
