Today I learned there's an AP art class

That’s not an accurate representation tho. For example more people tend to get a 5 in calculus bc than ab even though it’s the harder subject. The reason for this’d that the smarter people tend to choose the harder subjects and therefore these subjects have a higher percentage of 5s

Art classes can be more challenging than expected become they use different skills than what people might be used to academically. I thought an intro level art class would help even out the difficulty of uper level courses in my humanities major this semester, but it ended up being the class I struggled in the most.

i’m taking apush and psych. i’m a little worried but i think it will be fine. i think i could definitely get a 4 on both rn (i’ve done a lot of practice) and i’m gonna study and practice even more, so maybe i’ll get 5s. a lot of people don’t pass apush so it’s making me nervous, but my teacher was amazing so that helps too.

The only reason Physics C EM has such a high rate is because only needs take it I’m pretty sure that in a vacuum it is the hardest test

The percent of people who get a 5 is not a good indicator of how hard the exam is. For example calc BC and Spanish language have really high pass rates and 5 rates however the students in that class are incredibly qualified for that class. In my opinion we should look at the % correct needed to get a 5, this metric is much better because it gives an estimate by the college board of how tough the exam is. In my opinion based on this metric I think AP physics C is the toughest exam. In order to get a 5 on the exam a student must score 50%. So a highschool F is = to a 5 on the AP test.

One thing to account for though is the type of students taking the class, which will change the stats.

For example, Calculus BC has a much higher 5 rate than AB even though Calculus BC is objectively harder. Why? Because the students put into Calculus BC are the ones who are good at math or like math.

I think that this art class may not be impossible, but the students put into it are forced to take it or something similar to that.




Or it's just hard.

My daughter took the French AP test yesterday and she found it challenging compared to the calculus and stat APs.

This doesnt really mean anything cause if you look at AP Calc BC which is probably the hardest Math AP you can take it has a 47% of people getting a 5.

AP test results are not good indicators of the difficulty of a class, if we were rating difficulty solely off of performance on the exam AP human geograohy would be harder than AP calculus BC, which we know judt isnt true. The results are artificially skewed because there are different groups taking the specific class.

as someone who has taken ap drawing, ap 2d, and ap 3d art, and ap art history. the hardest one was definitely 2d. why? because it required the elements of art such as line and shape and they really graded based on that instead of pure drawing visuals like in ap draw.

But i dont plan on majoring in theatre so its kinda useless

the people actually skilled enough to want to take an AP art class are mostly in art schools lol

Well that might just be because the people who take those classes don’t know what they’re doing

U also kinda have to consider how many ppl r actually taking the class cuz I guarantee most schools probly don’t offer AP 3-D art and design in the first place

A lot of people got 4s though which isn’t true for classes like physics
