This is so true. I committed the exact same mistake in my accountancy exam although it's not an AP exam.. in school. And I wasted a lot of time on that question.. it ended up wasting my time and I did bad on that paper

Literally yes. I didn’t study for an AP Biology mock test. The FRQs carry your points. It’s very easy to get points from your FRQs. The MCQs and FRQs each have a composite weight of 60 points. This means that the paper has 120 composite points in total.
The FRQs divide these points in a weird way like 9, 9, 4, 4, 4. Then whatever you get out of 60 in the FRQs, multiply the composite score by 1.76. This is only for the FRQs. The MCQs pretty simple. Whatever you get out of 60 is your score, plain and simple ( ex : you get a 30/60, this means your MCQ composite score is 30 ). Add the composite scores of both FRQs and MCQs together. A composite score above 46 is a 3, a composite score above 66 is a 4 and anything above 88 is a 5.
My AP Biology class was hard because my teacher was so Ass at teaching the concept so I self studied it. I have my AP Biology exam tomorrow. I am confident that I can get a 4. I didn’t even prepare for the mock exam and got a borderline 4. Now I think I could get a solid 4 or maybe even a 5 if I am lucky

This is what I do. I look through the whole test and answer the ones I know for sure first

Not in an Ap class yet but I did this for an Honors Geometry quiz. I finished early so I went back to try the problem again and eventually worked it out.

Ya, and a lot of times, when i finish the rest of the test, and then go back to the question, it makes a lot more sense

that happened with ap calc bc. I spent like 5 min on a question and i ended up just skipping it. I still got a 5 tho since I was pretty confident in other questions.

What i do for exams is i go through them if i know the question will take time i skip and continue on. I do this until i finish all easy questions and have a ton of time left for the harder ones

Everytime when I have a test, I jump to question I know the answer too and sometimes use the information that I know is correct. Also if you have a A, B, C, D kinda question and you don't know the right answer, seem out the wrong, it can atleast make your chances of getting the right answer bigger

This also applies to any entrance exam

This is really helpful because my mom was the valedictorian in a Florida high school (her gpa was 5.1 because of how Florida weighs AP classes) so I have the pressure to get at least a 4.1 (because Georgia doesn’t weigh that much on AP classes so 4.1 GA ~ 5.1 FL). Going to take all APs as soon as possible because why not break myself to be better than my mom?

The worst part is when you know how to do it you just can’t get it out or organize your thoughts

Also get the free points on essays even if you can’t think anything to save your life.

Sounds dumb but I passively spend probably a total of 6 months trying to understand a subject. It's weird but true. It's almost like it's not the material your graded on but your ability to temporarily memorize things.
