I'm autistic and very sensitive to sound. The person below me always has their TV turned up to 100 because they have too much pride to wear their hearing aids ( they own a pair). I've tried white noise, I've tried headphones (but I'm a side sleeper), I've tried the headbands that play music, and I've tried asking him to turn it down but he refuses. I've lost countless hours of sleep and my sanity is not all the way there anymore. I am at a loss! Sometimes I even cry because of how desperate I am to fall asleep.

My neighborhood in Raleigh Durham used to be very quiet 22 years ago but now is extremely noisy and is very stressful to deal with.

I will definitely try progressive muscle relaxation to calm myself down when highly stressed.

Hi, I’m kind of in a unique situation but I’m currently living with my parents and I have a child. We finally closed on the house but we still have a few more months before everything is done and I basically have not slept in over a year because of the noise. We’ve tried everything earplugs, white noise, we have a fan going at the highest level, but my family is incredibly inconsiderate throughout the entire night and in the morning. Basically I have gone from sleeping every night to getting maybe 2 full hours of sleep hours of sleep. I have asked them to keep the noise down and they tell me it’s their house. I’m starting to lose all mental cognitive function because of the lack of sleep how do I deal with this?

Can you sleep as deeply without earplugs amid noise as you do with them if you get used to it?

I have a step brother and he pulls all nighters everyday and calls his friends loudly at 1-4am. I have school the next day or something going on in the weekend and I don’t know how to tell him to be quiet. We never talk he’s just there. What should I do?
