As a very senior IT person, I have found that Cybersecurity is a home and a awesome place. In IT and I know I am guilty of it sometimes, when someone asks me how to ping or network scan etc and I just roll my eyes. I need to be better. But if they are brand new, I want to take them under my wing and teach them the way. With Cybersecurity everyone I met is awesome about helping me learn something new.

Omg this happened to me just this week in a group I was doing a lot of volunteer work for to help! I have a personal zero tolerance policy for that so I peaced out real fast!

Super grateful for the fun, positive, and supportive communities within the industry like Simply Cyber. Thanks Gerry! 😊

Yes, I'm so new to cybersecurity. How are you supposed to learn if you don't ask or if they don't answer, guide, or show.

I’m thinking about going to college for cybersecurity I got out of the military and don’t really have a clue what I want to do with my life. Any pointers in it?

I just dealt with the hypothetical person Gerry is speaking of. I gave a one word reply to his whining("mute").
