10 years ago my ex-husband (German) manipulated two of our three children against me and threw me out on the street, one of my three children stayed with me, she served as motivation for me, I studied a career as a nursing assistant (in German ), today I feel fulfilled, I miss my two children, the pain of rejection does not go away, life goes on, but I have the satisfaction that my daughter who stayed with me is already finishing her university degree and I managed to move forward in my life without More help than my own effort considering that I live in Germany and it was like being born again.

I used to get upset when I found out that people were talking behind my back. Now when I find out people are talking behind my back, I think "Look at that, I have a fan club". It's like the old saying, it's mind over matter, I don't mind because they don't matter

These toxic people don't cross our path by chance; through them, we learn to set personal boundaries, to say "No, " to value ourselves, and to become wiser and stronger. Recently, I went through such a lesson, I learned a lot, and I removed those people from my life. Even a friend with whom I had been close for 35 years turned out to be a vampire not only of time but also of energy; she burdened me with her problems and went to sleep peacefully, while I ended up with a migraine. I removed her from my life, and not just her, but also other acquaintances, whiners, pessimists, etc. These people drag us down, but we want to rise, don't we?

Stoic or not, Relationships and/or marriages will be hard without understanding and patience. I however have discovered there's always a way to fix things when there's a problem. Five years back, my wife and I were on the brink of divorce because of issues in our marriage, but we found a way to fix them. It was hard, but we made it through.

No support system. All that I have is me. I am enough.

After giving my toxic family more chances than they deserved to be decent, I came to realize I knew who they were all along . I do not put myself in their presence any longer for my own citadel . People do not have the same morals thoughts or empathy you do and you can’t expect it . Only disappointment awaits you in that mindset .

Even though I was raised by negative people… there was lessons learned, I am taking care of one of those toxic people.

I am an identical twin. Entering adulthood I felt so much back and forth with trying to appease my sister.
I felt like since we were twins that we were supposed to be there for each other. But I would confide in her with certain things and ask her to keep between us. She always ended up blabbing it and I stopped sharing and confiding in her. The it was her blaming me for everything and I was constantly trying to work things out feeling completely exhausted. I felt like nothing I did was good enough and anything good that happened she did not want to celebrate it…if it was bad it was shallow sympathy and later used as a dagger towards me. I didn’t realize until probably our late 20’s she was a pestimistic and I was optimistic.
She would constantly tell me I was living in a fantasy land. It made me question myself, it made me hide my love for creating, painting and even completely stop. It was the hardest thing to choose to keep her out of my life because my hopes and dreams of having a good close relationship just wasn’t going to happen because I could never measure up to her standards and she was always going to find something wrong that I did that offended her…everything I did offended her.. when I got engaged, she said my ring looked to big and goddy. When I got married, she made an excuse not to be there…anything that was good or important to me, she would knock me down. We haven’t spoken but one time in 7 years. I’m no longer exhausted trying to work things out and keep the peace but my hopes and dreams of having a sister to celebrate life with have been completely crushed.
I will say I have gotten back into my art 3 years ago and I have enjoyed it and become more confident in it. I have reconnected with childhood friends that have no artistic ability that encourage me and love my creativity….something I haven’t had in years…not since school days. So it has been made aware that I do have a unique ability that I burried, I was led to believe and questioned myself about things I was told by my sister that were false. I am painting huge wall murals and doing things I would have never dreamed if it wasn’t for the encouragement of my husband and a couple friends. All I can say don’t ever let anyone rob you of your happiness or your talents.
Even identical twins are night and day different.

I love the part of being able to identify a toxic person in your life. If you fail to define terms correctly, you may turn around and blame self

I wholeheartedly believe that philosophy should be a subject in place of language arts during high school (implemented in a similar way to how many schools place economics).

"Frustrated fixer" how true lol these narcissists are experts in frustrating people they live for it. I love the part about tending to your own garden because the weeds in the narcissist's garden are so long and deep that you can't pull them out. Great video.🌟

My past is beyond a story, full of challenges and trials. Since childhood, I felt the inner strength to surmount difficulties. I never gave up despite all challenges. I used to cry when feeling helpless until I saw a counsellor who opened my eyes to move on with my life away from my toxic family. I now live in the present and grateful for each I wake up. I sometimes feel the hurt but I smile, feeling grateful for a new day. I love being alone, strong, embracing the wisdom I have acquired through lived experiences.
