A quick note on shorts content for anyone who is curious! As someone who posts a lot of shorts, there is an ebb and flow to them. For example I'll go from 120k views a day to 20k but it's a gradual decline and then it typically goes back up. I've noticed the changes have to do with new viewers vs returning viewers. My returning viewers have a base mark that it typically never falls below but the new viewers is what causes the spikes and dips. And every dip I have becomes a higher base total than the last dip. When I first started the highs were the same but the dips would be 2k views a day, then it went to maybe 8k and now my dips are at about 25k views a day. So, keep posting and get your return viewers up, which will overall end up increasing your subs and views, creating a higher baseline on your videos. And another note, shorts seem to get effected if you don't post a new one for 3 days, so waiting 2 days at max has been my best strategy! Hopefully this helps and good luck!

As a YouTube consumer: this works.

I found at least two channels I was subscribed to but had completely forgotten about through community tab posts. I’ve subscribed to at least three channels after seeing them first in a community tab post.

Community posts are appealing to me because sometimes I’m scrolling through YouTube when I’m at school and have the sound off. They’re a VERY short time commitment too, and I love the polls and the art people put on the community tab. I once watched a premier live that I wouldn’t have known about if I hadn’t seen a post about it and clicked the “notify me” button at the time.

You never know. And it takes very little time.

I really like the Community Tab and have used it for several months with no problem. It's a great way to engage and remind Algo that I exist (even if it doesn't love me back, yet). 😅 That said, about 2 weeks ago, my ability to post images in the Community posts has gotten an error message and "please try again". Not sure why it won't let me post images but it really hampers a great tool.

The community tab is definitely something I want to start utilising more. I remember I was really excited when the feature became available to everyone, then I started using it & didn't get a lot of attention, so I kinda just stopped. I do still make the occasional post, normally on special events but again they don't get many views etc so I definitely will try to use some of these tips when I get access to quizzes.

I’ve been hesitant to use the quizzes because I had trouble thinking of good questions.
My podcast is all about movies and tv, I just realized I can do trivia quizzes that lead into my video podcast episodes! 🤦🏻‍♀️
