This is a 100% truth. I was visiting my mom a few weeks back. Took her guitar out to her patio and gave a 6 minute guitar lesson with lots of value for the viewer. Shot it on my ipad, zero editing, YT chose the thumbnail and the video is close to 130K views and still going. Authenticity and value are the most important things you can do. Keep going everyone!

Good point on creating a video that is very "Raw", I don't like videos with a bunch of editing tricks and fancy effects, I like to see a video that actually teaches me something. My videos are very raw, I do videos with my phone, nothing else, nothing fancy. Pure raw footage so people can have a personal connection. We are still a small channel but steadily growing. Thank you Sean for the great advise.

I tend to overthink the cuts, music and transitions to the point sometimes I forget to remember what value I give to the viewer. Thank you so much for reminding me 🙏🏼

Great video, I think that for small channels the most important thing is to get good presence from the beginning. Otherwise, you are going to be far behind everyone else, and eventually quit. Even though I am not beginner anymore, I know how hard it could be (and if I haven't used a lot of Famester, I would have quit a long time ago). It made everything much more easier, especially getting over subs and views requirements to get monetized.

Talk way too long just to say the typical "provide value" jargon 😂

Raw content is becoming the interesting and personable content. I just have to believe it ❤

Been at this craft for 8 years and still struggling. I think there is some validity to what Sean says since my newer videos which are very polished have less retention than my older more raw videos. Food for thought.

Definitely have felt this with a few of my videos. Glad to hear that I wasn't the only one that had these same thoughts!

I just started my channel 4 days ago and only have 3 subscribers but I KNOW I will get to my goal in the near future. Will keep finding ways to improve and hope every small channel gets to their goal! 🙌🏽

I just launched my channel to promote my website which trains small landlords on all the things that we teach our leasing agents at the large, national Property Management organizations. Most of my videos (granted it’s only been a week now) haven’t gotten any exposure. However, one of my videos miraculously got nearly 40 views in less than 24 hours. Being a rookie at this, and just winging it…. I’m not sure what I did when publishing that one that caused this spike in exposure. I checked and all my settings are setup the same way. So I couldn’t tell you what the heck I did. I feel like I closed my eyes and took a shot towards the hoop and made it… don’t ask me to do it again 🤔🤷‍♂️😂or what i did. Now, with that said, if anyone reading this is a “Real Estate/MultiFamily Investor “ looking to grow your channel…. Maybe we can do a podcast or a YT video together. My years of working at the large national and statewide Property Management organizations could help train some of your viewers and would make for great content.

I believe it. Last couple of videos I tried to make them pretty polished. As polished as my current skills will let me anyway. They didn't do so hot. My next to last video, I kinda just put it together without as much editing. Made a useful item for the public. In 10 days, its gotten over 10, 000 views. Thats major for me.

Great video man! I will take these tips to practice!

I finally had the courage to upload my first ever video and regardless of the statistics, I am proud of the work I put into it and the result.

There is more to come and pls everyone don't give up!
