The YouTube algorithm hates my small YouTube channel. We hear this thought from creators all the time. But is it true? Let's investigate.

My 2024 philosophy is not to worry about views or subs and just enjoy making content and I’m loving just grinding away after my full time job… ENJOY the process

If YT put that much effort into it.. why do they repeatedly
show me videos I already watched in my home feed?

I wonder if a way to curb this mentality is to just remove the "view count" from the video until you click on it. That way it almost levels the playing field in a way.

A tip that’s been helping me slowly grow my channel is turning off “Publish/notify subscribers” prior to uploading video. If you publish to notify subscribers and none of your subscribers are watching, YouTube/algorithm is going to think it’s a bad video and stops promoting it. Get the real data from non subscribers and it can potentially increase your views as well as getting more subscribers to your channel

So in summary if your video has 0 views, people wont click on it so it will permanently end up with no views lol

I love watching small creators, so half of my youtube feed has less than 1k views. I have no qualms about the algorithm because it shows small channels to people who are interested in small channels. Its kind of fun finding up and coming creators, like finding a good indie artist or game.

From what I learned about Youtube overall is that just when you think you know all the answers, they change all the questions.
And I've been around since 2007 here.

My main problem is people that are subbed to me dont actually watch my videos and i know the reason for it but i dont know how to make them watch it

I started watching VidIQ when I was at 204 subscribers. What you teach helps and I appreciate you guys for it. If you're a 200 sub channel, just keep learning.

I actually do watch the videos suggested from small channels, out of curiosity to see what they're doing.

Yes, I quite often click on videos with only 10 or 20 views in my browse / suggestions, if I see one with millions of views, I generally ignore them especially if they are from the 'big creators'. Really glad that the algorithm doesn't suggest any of those to my feed

i remember hitting 20 subs, on 550 now, just keep pushing and never give up. - then youll have no regrets

I'm at 32 subs now. I will keep on pushing until I get there. And more power to everyone who is also pushing to get there♥♥

The main problem is that smaller channels have a harder time gaining traction as opposed to larger channels

I dont think that algortihm ignoring us small youtubers i just think that it take some time to push it to the right public. Someone will be a bit lucky and get that "one" viral video sooner but i think at the end if you keep posting and be consistent, you will make it.. Lets see what happens, hope all of you out there make it 💪🙌

It's pretty nice to have it acknowledged that just by being a small channel and not getting many views automatically makes it less likely for you to get views in general unless your video is a 1 in 1 million kind of good.
Damn you human psychology.

No.1 Title-thumbnail
No.2 Sound quality and voice confidence (rhythm, tone, articulation etc)
No.3 Satisfying Video Editing
No.4 Content.

The more videos i make the more i realize how much lower quality my contend is compared to successful videos similar to mine. But also, since i can understand more and more the difference in quality, that means that i can also improve more and more. Keep grinding bros

Getting more views is definitely tough. It is a process. Consistency, quality content and listening to your viewers are three ways to boost your channel. Thanks for sharing.
