In this video, we’re going to talk about the best time to exercise.

The best time to work out is in the evening. When you work out in the evening, you recover much more quickly than if you work out in the morning. You also burn more fat.

Keep in mind that exercising in the evening will spike your cortisol a small amount, but it normalizes much faster.

If you are an adrenal body type, you may benefit from walking in the morning. However, for those who are not, high-intensity interval training is ideal in the evening.

If you work out twice a day, try doing your light workout in the morning and more intense exercises in the evening.

You should see a big difference in your results and recovery when you work out in the evening. Give it a try and let me know what you think in the comments below.

I agree that evening is the best time of day to workout. Not only will your recovery be better but your joints are not as stiffed as they are in the morning and it also helps you with stress relief. You're also more pumped and energized in the evening.

I workout in the morning with empty stomach, before going to work (3 times per week), for 10 years and i love it. I feel energetic. Before, i did workout after work, around 6 pm and i hated it because i always felt tired.

I do IF 16:8 every day and HIIT 6 days a week in the mornings. It feels just great, full of energy all day long.

The best time to workout is whenever you'll actually do it. Plenty of times I skipped workouts because by the evening I was too tired and unmotivated since I had already WORKED all day.

Oh my gosh I just started working out at 3 PM as per this advice and I can now fall asleep like a baby! I usually have really bad insomnia.

For various health and age-related reasons I have been paying close attention to the variety of suggestions available on YouTube and elsewhere related to diet, the sum total of which seems to be contradictory in many ways. You approach is consistent, sensible, and seems to fit what I believe I need to maintain and improve my health. I appreciate your efforts.

This is exactly what I wanted to hear. I've been trying to workout first thing in the morning and it's always been a struggle. I am going to give this evening workout suggestion a go. Thanks Dr Berg!

I was so relieved to hear this because my whole life I've preferred working out in the evening so I'm glad it's actually more effective this way. :)

Perhaps it is true evening is better, but I get a total body and mind feel good high all day long doing it in the mourning and I sleep very well that evening. Personally, when I get home at night and have supper and relax and write or watch some TV the last thing I want to do is exercise, but that's just me. Thank you, Dr. Berg, for all your great videos.

This is perfect knowledge and it works for me. My evening workout tires me a bit and I sleep well too. When I workout in the mornings, my body aches all day.

Best to sleep after exercise. Lots of boxers wake up super early, train, then go back to bed. The muscles needs immediate rest to recover and regrow. This works for runners too.

The worst is zero rest by those super early exercisers. That just burns up the body, damages the heart, and reduces lifespan.

I like yoga in the morning so that it stretches my body, wakes me up gently and calms me down. all the other type of work out goes in the evening, after 4:30 or 5 pm. thank u!

I switch it up. 8pm twice a week and 8am on the the weekends. Best of both worlds. I have to be at work at 9am during the week. 6am workouts were just too taxing, even with 7-8 hours of rest. FYI I go super hard and heavy every time. My current schedule is a nice balance ⚖️
