Removing a crack with Air Carbon Arc gouging

Here you can see Jayden, a Journeyman Welder at Kaymor removing a crack with Air carbon Arc gouging (Air-Arc). Air carbon arc gouging is an electric arc generated between the tip of a carbon electrode and the work piece. The metal becomes molten and a high velocity air jet streams down the electrode to blow it away, thus leaving a clean groove. Once the crack has been removed he will then do a weld repair bringing the part back to new.
