Knock knee, or genu valgum, is an orthopedic condition where the knees touch one another, and there is a space between the ankles. Knock kneed individuals have poor biomechanics with maltrack patella, and this causes knee and ankle pain/injuries.

If you are someone who has knock knees or knee pain for other reasons including maltracking patella, this video will provide you with some stretches and exercises that will help to alleviate knee/ankle pain. It will address strengthening of the hip, knee, and ankle.

As always, speak with your physician prior to starting any of the exercises in this video and if you experience any pain.

Chris Wilkins is a physical therapy student, and with Dr. Minkowitz, created this plan of stretches and exercises.

Thank you for a thorough and concise therapy for knock knees. The peronial stretch label was followed by a hamstring stretch. Does the hamstring stretch work both the peronials and the hamstrings?

How often do you recommend doing this routine for an adult?

Hi, what does one minute two times mean? I was thinking it meant hold the stretch for one minute, rest, stretch one minute then switch.

Then the foam roller confused me, how do you roll for one minute twice? Do you just keep rolling back and forth for one minute, rest, then roll again then switch?

Thanks
