I had severe under eye myokymia for over 8 months. People would notice it and it was constantly on my mind as I could feel the area quivering. It stopped when I upped my potassium. I either eat a banana each day or drink a serving of coconut water. I'm also giving myself a break from stress where possible as I do think that's involved too. My body was definitely trying to tell me something!

Presently experiencing this and as surprised that it's something that's actually real and affects other people too. Decided to look it up and I'm also a medical student 😢

Thanks for your video. In my experience, stress and caffeine use up my nutrients very quickly. I get very low in magnesium and B vitamins especially. Topping up these always resolves the twitching of my left eyelid and sometimes the twitching is around my eye too.

I’ve had this for over 6 months. It’s mainly the upper eyelid of my right eye. Although not easy, I managed to film it on my phone several times. It’s really quite severe at and very distracting. It’s definitely not possible to ignore.
Edit: Very happy to report months after my original comment, the twitching gradually disappeared and now it no longer bothers me. it just seemed to come from nowhere, it became severe and then gradually went. Still trying to find out the cause.

As a teenager into my adulthood I use to have a lot of eye twitching and didn’t understand why I started documenting my self writing down my every mood attitude and everything that happened in my world from the start until the end of my day even my dreams when I remembered them it finally stopped when I started taking control over my life …never happened again My factor was High stress related issues Eliminate what ever stress you can take control of is a good start 👍

I've only ever gotten this once during my final year in medschool a few moments before the Pediatric ward round. It was my least favourite rotation and it used to STRESS ME OUTTT. It went away right after rounds so I knew it was definitely stress related lol.

I was doing fast reading of archives newspapers as a job when this happened to me. It was so intense I couldn't work properly anymore. I had to be put on health leave for a month, until I had botox injections. After that it went away and never came back. I am glad because those eye injections where terrifying and I would have need more of them...

I get twitching eyelid whenever I stop taking magnesium or when I`m drinking huge amounts of coffee (for a few days). It always stops when I start taking magnesium again. BTW I`m vet med student so "medical student disease" is accurate

I mostly have it in the upper eyelids. I have it always in atleast one lid. Once i had in in 3/4 eyelids. So annoying. Sometimes it lasts for months. Then a muscle around my ear begins to twitch for a bit. Then back to the eyelids.

Had this condition for at least a month. Started for just a few minutes and graduated up to most of each day. This went on for about a month and it was miserable. Only in my right eye on the upper lid, and by mid day trying to read or focus was almost impossible. I'm not a smoker or drinker, not a medical student, didn't take any of those meds, was sleeping fine, only drank caffeine occasionally, and my stress was severe only once this twitching started. I was hoping it was related to being on the computer and tried to cut back. I also tried adjusting the lighting and using relaxing drops. I don't know why it stopped and praying it doesn't come back. Felt like the only time I had relief was while sleeping.
