There are also great free options on Spotify, just type in “mindfulness” or “guided meditation”

Cheers!

Ok so it turns out the "Eisenhower Complex" is way more commonly known as the "Eisenhower Matrix" so if you want to find a template for that, Google the latter, not the former.

ALSO, THANK YOU FOR 1 MILLION SUBSCRIBERS. SEE YOU IN THE NEW YEAR!

1: Do the worst-first strategy. Don't start with fun, start with the most boring or dreaded thing to do.
2: Braindumping. Got 6 things on your mind? ... Write things down to stop thinking about it. Optionally use Eisenhowers matrix to sort things in 4 categories and execute upon that.
3: Mindfullness. Meditate, or Enter the present, rather than the default brain setting of "looking at it".

1- reward yourself for doing what needs to be done.
2 - keep your thoughts in a book & get your priorities right.
3 - stay in the now moment.

3 ways to mental clarity
1. Practice gradual stimulation (the entertainment value)
2. Brain Dumping (physical media)
3. Mindfulness (no brain, live in the present)

This whole year has been a massive journey toward operating at my full mental potential, both with external and internal roadblocks taken into account. I have clinical depression and "brain fog", including cognitive issues, are a major symptom of depressive episodes for me. Being able to name and identify external factors that exacerbate this in addition to proper medication has made this year- for all the dumpster fireyness it encompasses- one of the best mental health years I've had in my adult life. Better Ideas has been a TREMENDOUS part of that- so thanks, yo!

We need more YouTubers/social content creators like you in the world. Spreading positive energy instead of a negative one. You obviously do this not for views or recognition but to actually help us and make our lives better. You have no idea how many people you are helping :)

I usually do my social media "rounds" throughout the day when I have a little break, even if it's one or two minutes, but then I end up getting very bored and distracted when going back to my tasks. So when you started talking about "Graduated Stimulation" I realized that was probably a big issue in my life. Thank you for taking the time to make this video!

Dude, your videos are so well-written, high quality, and nuanced. As a PhD student in need of some mental clarity, I really loved this episode. Especially the fact that you mention 'get the basics right first' in the beginning of the video, and your reflection on self-help in general and how you don't want to be the next guy claiming to have all the answers, I really love that honesty and humbleness. Big contrast with 99% of all other youtubers that create stuff on these kinds of topics.

I love that you recapped all the points at the end of the video. It felt a little like being back in school and having the teacher remind you of the concepts to reinforce them

Meditation provides such an intense rest for the brain - I am quite literally confused why so few people do it consistently for clarity purposes

Brain Dumping is basically starting a Bullet Journal. I started my first one in 2019 and has been a great help!
