This warmup is all about performing a simple lunge. It is great for hip flexors and balance
To perform:
1. Step forward in a straight line, like on a balance beam, and dip one knee to the ground.
2. Maintain level hips and shoulders throughout the movement.
3. Stand up straight and step with the opposite foot to move right into the next lunge.
Add challenge by having the athlete take longer steps and push the back hip forward. Should result in a deeper hip flexor stretch.
Remember that it is important to maintain proper form while performing these types of stretches.
