ABOUT THIS VIDEO

In this video, Matt talks about the yoga position cat-cow and explains why it's NOT a good idea if you have hunchback posture. If you do this exercise to fix hunchback posture the conventional way, you can actually make your hunchback worse. By modifying this exercise, you can make it a more effective way to fix your kyphosis/hunchback.

Thanks a million man. My gym trainer used to make me do this. All it did was mess with my lumbar spine and had no effect on the thoracic spine.

I quite like that exercise with neck flexion. Isolates the thoracic extensors even more. Top job

I think people with these minds of issues 'suffer' from 'poor' sense of what their muscles do. I saw several video's on this specific topic now, but often you are supposed to notice and be able to distinguish the midback and lower back muscles, in sensing as well as in commanding. That makes them very hard to do without professional guidance, and even then it might take weeks to get a sense of (distinguished) control (comparable with moving your ringfinger and pinkie independently). So this excercise is helpful, I think, because it does not only rely purely on guiding your will to address the specific muscles to be trained.

I’ve never been able to do flexion only extension on cat-cow anyway?
My back stays flat and my lumbar spine tightens up.
