This is why a lot of football players are told to pick up wrestling/dancing in the off season. Both of those sports require a ton of mobility and flexibility

Hip mobility is so underrated. I’m currently trying to undo 20 years of poor practices.

Never too late to start. The worst attitude is telling yourself you’re too old. Keep that mobility, incorporate flexibility/ yoga poses. That’ll keep joint pain away into old age. And start cutting back on fast food. Cancer rates are ⬆️ almost 80% in the last 50 years.

At age 51, my chiropractor, massage therapist, primary care physician, and martial arts instructor said, “let’s work on those hips.”
I attended Texas Tech University in college over 25 years ago.
I search for hip flexor exercises and this comes up in my YouTube shorts.
The stars are aligned.

This is something I didn’t learn until I was 30 and started having nasty sciatic pain. Years of not playing sports and stretching took its toll on my hip mobility. Everything down there was like a guitar string it was so taut. I could barely sit cross legged.

Now I’m 32 and have been doing hip mobility exercises for 2 years. I can almost sit flat cross legged and my sciatic pain has mostly disappeared.

Video from joeybergles on IG. The “hack” is to focus on hip mobility (this type of exercise that works internal and external control is an excellent example most can start and benefit from) and to START doing so BEFORE problems occur. The earlier you start focusing on better movement quality the better.

It really is nice to see a focus on such small movements to get that flexibility and maximum movement. Back to basics for this top tier athlete men!! Their bodies are top in class perfectly oiled machines…..yet a simple little movement like this requires focus and practice to do correctly to get maximum results. Well done men❤

Hip mobility is key. I did ballet for 3 years to help with other sports. The women were a plus

I had great hip mobility and ran hurdles all through high school most of my success due to my mobility. I lost it within two years in the work force.

After years of playing ball, the worst pain I get now is in my hips… 💯

Hell yes. I’m doing clasthetics at 46 and it’s resolved all the pains I have had in the past 23 years from football and rugby. I wish I knew this stuff back then when I started weightlifting.

Perfect timing!!! My right hip has been hurting a lot lately…I will definitely be trying this!!! I’ve had a cortisone injection…my hip laughed at that. Went to therapy…it help….now will try this…hopefully it will loosen up the stiffness. Start slow and see how it goes!!!

My daughter is 5. She can easily do the splits and a full forward fold. Part of my goal as a parent is that she remains that mobile through adulthood. When we "workout" together we do all my mobility work together. She loves it!

This is why it’s important these men take ballet, we do this flexed feet and pointed front, side and back in “attitude” position. It’s essential! We get opening up those hips. 😅

Did you know that Arnold Schwarzenegger, Muhammad Ali, Bruce Lee, actually took ballet lessons to help them better at their career. And there was a football team that had to take ballet lessons further their career. Dancers are some of the most fit athletes on the planet do not forget that.
