It's complicated, but I think you really nailed it for me. I have struggled with severely shortened[from muscle wasting due to immobilization] for many years now. I cannot even get INTO the 90-90 position but probably some of your adjusted positions would be a good place to start. I know about turning the trunk to that side == that's basically what I'm doing now, and boy does it work but it's rough. My knee really hurts and other trainers say lift it off the ground a little. But I will try to work my way into what you're showing here . .

I've been focusing on external hip rotation in the form of tailor-pose for long periods of time, which has been great, but internal rotation, like a reverse tailor pose is now needed! too much yang, and not enough yin!

Thank you! I recently started working on this and have a question or concern. Since starting, I have been experiencing alot of joint discomfort and inflammation-like pain. Like a really intense toothache but in my hips, etc. Is this to be expected at the start? Am i overdoing it? Etc?
