I actually find being fit and controlling my weight I'm my sixties easier than when I was in my 30s-50s. Maybe it's retirement but I just gave more time for self care.

I think it would be good if women under forty could also be part of this. I have been menopaused for years now. It was tough in the early stages .I know now I should have taken things seriously. Health wise.

I think we all share a concern about our weight shifting more to the middle as we age. Especially when you hit your sixties. You can maintain the same weight your entire adult but still find your waistline expands despite regular exercise. I do plenty of cardio, and now focus a lot on tightening my core, but you do your best and except the rest! Of course, diet is even more important- ‘You are what you eat’ is a maxim for a reason. Thanks so much for celebrating women of a certain age.

Research shows that our metabolism doesn’t change however our energy levels dip. So that means we don’t move as much but we are used to eating like we did when we moved more, so we are taking in more calories than we burn. Key take away we need to move more if we want to maintain our healthy bodies. I work out and eat a balanced diet ( I don’t deprive myself) am 62 and my weight and body composition is the same as in my 20’s.
