Take walks. Outside. Preferably Late evenings. You’ll experience Magic trust me. Walk and think About how your day has been and Do this So You can focus on other stuff Rather than Crying about how long you’ve walked.

Cutting sugar is important, but less for weight reasons and more for health reasons. You will definitely lose weight doing it too. Most people eat WAY more sugar than they should in a day

Edit: people need to re-read this comment. I said “less for weight reasons and more for health reasons”

Edit2: I didn’t realize people are so defensive of sugar. It’s a fact that it’s not good for you, it won’t hurt to try cutting more sugar out of your diet!

Intermittent fasting and calorie deficit for the win.

I feel a lot less hungry when I don't eat carbs, so there is that aspect of it.

Former T2D here. Cutting out carbs completely helped me go from an A1C of over 11 to 5.5 currently. I’m off of all meds and went from 260 to 195 pounds. High healthy fats and moderate protein saved my life.

I have my eyes on my healthier self. I'm getting back on the workout train and making my body feel better 💪

Reducing carbs and refine sugars is a good thing, but I can’t eliminate carbs altogether. It’ll make me feel weak, which then impacts my workouts. When I add in the quality of my workouts, I think I lose weight more on a small carb diet. It gives me enough energy to push through.

I have a tendency to overeat when carbs are involved, that’s why keto works for me

Cutting out carbs hugely messes with my mental health, ability to do my job, interferes with my sleep and makes my IBS worse. Balanced diet and a sensible calorie deficit along with regular exercise. Stay consistent are you’re all good 👍🏻

man, I've tried it all - 6 meals a day with brown rice, chicken and broccoli and tones of exercise (worked pretty well but a pain in the butt and boring), vegan (sucked arse), but keto/carnivore is the most sustainable for me cause I basically don't get super hungry and it's simple - BUT it took a good few weeks before I stopped feeling crap and having massive cravings. Main thing is no sugar and regular exercise, and it doesn't have to be super strenuous, just regular.

To be fair, I’m currently cutting carbs, not completely, just lower than most, keeping protein high and fat fairly high too, calories at a good level and spacing my meals out, I’m feeling strong, have energy, sleeping well and losing body fat, and not at a too fast pace. It seems to be working for me at the moment.

Cutting carbs works because we tend to eat too much in the first place. A moderate amount of carbs are fine for most people. Especially for those doing manual labor. I work in an office. So things like doughnuts are the devil.

I've lost a lot of fat on low carb. Turns out carbs are very easy to overeat.

Absolutely true. Best alternative to amputation.

I've done keto and lost the same 40 lb twice I finally decided to try a calorie deficit and so I bought Dave's killer bread and still have super healthy sandwiches with avocado and veggies and chicken and tuna. I also have popcorn but I stay away from sweet treats, pastries. I will eat whole grain hamburger buns etc. I finally feel like I'm living a moderated life and it works so much better for me than trying to cut out ALL carbs!! Now when I get to my goal weight I'll just keep eating like I'm eating now with more calories. I feel like a normal person again I can go out and eat with my friends and just pick and choose from the menu what fits in my calorie budget. Right now I'm losing weight like crazy I walk an hour every day it's just so much better for my mental health too.

I don't care what anyone says. I've tried both ways and on lower carbs (more like almost zero carbs and 1 big carb reload weekly) I lost fat easily while eating 40% more calories than following a diet with carbs and maintained more muscle mass with less hunger and bloat.
No, it was not just water weight.
No, I did not miscount my calories nor increased my activity level.

Your body does not consume food by setting it on fire which is how calories are measured. You must eat less to lose fat but food choice matters a lot.

The reason low/zero carb works is because you aren't hungry. If you don't eat carbs, it's actually difficult to over eat.
