😂😂😂Nina, you're too much! @1:35 "You pay peanuts, you get monkeys!" On a serious note, though, it's true that compensation plays a pivotal in employee retention. But as you also rightfully said, besides the 'tangible things' such as money and benefits, 'intangibles' also matter. Things like respect and courtesy vis-a-vis the staff go a long way toward making people stay at the company, no matter what - or leave as soon as they land another job. Well done here. It's always puzzled me how in large, centralized, organizations how a certain degree of incompetence was a prerequisite for an upper level management position. Through the years I could only conclude that the incompetent supervisor was a buffer between front line management and CEOs, CFOs, and COOs. After all, if you're on the top, the last thing you want is competition, and someone with ideas that might improve productivity. The standing joke was, yes there is a suggestion box, and there are team building events, but line staff somehow knew that innovative ideas would be filed in the round file cabinet. LOL.

This video was so gut, we had to come back and watch it again. The issue of attrition is something we'd like to research more and see its impact on small and medium-sized businesses. There are so many factors affecting attrition, some depending on the employee him/herself and some linked to the company, its culture and the sector in which it operates. Wow! Thanks, Nina, for your wisdom. - ✨ *Your Awesome Friends at The S'witty Kiwi Show* 🧡

Some companies can't keep employees because they don't know how to treat employees. You leave bad managers most of the time.

I had one employee suddenly leave. Then I found some items missing. This guy was not a critical employee Thank goodness. What is a spot bonus?
