2:25 "Remember [your resignation] is not about respecting them, it's about respecting yourself." Gold...

I think it's absolute b.s. that we have to provide 2 weeks notice to quit but employers don't have to give us notice to fire/lay off/terminate us on the spot

I agree that it is best to leave on a high note, but not necessarily to write about how wonderful the company is--when you're leaving a toxic environment.

If you are in a toxic workplace, you can quit without notice in a respectful way. Just draft your resignation letter, keep it short and simple, hand it over to boss, don’t show any emotion. And leave.

I daydream all the time about giving my notice - which is why I'm watching these videos...as much as I detest my current supervisor - I don't want to make a mistake in how I leave.

gratitude won't be something I offer - but anger won't be either...I'll be too happy when it happens.

I gave my resignation today. I tried to have a meeting at the end of the day, but she had to leave and told me to just call her. No one took me seriously when I tried to talk to them. I eventually told the shift lead in private and she was very understanding about my reasons for leaving. She was actually sad about it. I'm gonna miss my old team, but it's time to move on.

I get why you should leave on good terms, but I'm sick of shutting my mouth about incompetence on the managers. I would like just for once to be able to respectfully tell them why I think they're not doing a good job and that their toxic behaviour is why Im resigning. If my boss already doesnt like me despite me being a good employee and talks behind my back to coworkers, what will stop them from giving a bad reference even if I do everything gracefully? you can be as correct as you want, but at the end they still have the power to make things up and trash-talk you anyway... infuriating

How many of you have quit without another job lined up? My job is so stressful I honestly am not capable of finding another during. I also work in a job where I look like hell by the end of the day as it's very physical. Job interviews after working means I would NOT get the job. I hope quitting without a backup means I find something soon without succumbing to another toxic work environment. Only time will tell.

I had a real bad experience with a fucker boss who made me quit just because I wanted to pursue higher studies and now I became his esteemed client. Karma's a real deal.

Giving feedback of a monster boss/lead is pointless. At the end of the days they’ll believe them before you. HR will always believe them. I’ve been at my current job for years! I’ve yet to see a supervisor get fired or reprimanded for any negative actions.
There are supervisors that have had multiple employees quit bcus of them and nothing ever happens.
It’s really sad.

I am a month into my new job and I want to quit. I wanted to quit after the first day. A week ago, the general manager walked out and left us in a really bad spot. This is the first time I've ever experienced a manager, let alone the top manager, walk out on the job. The whole place is extremely short-staffed. The morale is non-existent. There's finger-pointing, criticism, and animosity between the employees. Everyone is exhausted and burnt out. I was not properly trained, and so sometimes I make mistakes out of ignorance, and I'm usually ridiculed for it by my coworkers. This is at a nursing home, so there is a part of me that feels this moral obligation to stay for the elderly people. I am at a loss at what to do.

As we know the best time to quit is when it would be most inconvenient for the employer for you to quit.

I texted my boss that I wasn't coming in and that I resign....he demanded that I drop off my resignation letter on his desk. I texted him im not coming in the office and that I would email him...then the next day, when i still haven't emailed the letter, he says the director, (she's a woman) needed the letter so I needed to send it to HIM. I didn't respond and instead emailed the director herself.

I agree about telling the boss off. My satisfaction came from watching his facial expressions while reading my resignation letter. I considered it one of life’s little pleasures. Hearing my former manager and co-workers slag me after I left was disappointing. I was accountable and hard working which took a lot of the burden off of him but to hear he was let go due to performance some time later just proved why leaving was the best thing.

To be honest I love the people I work with but after 9 years I’m ready to move on. I felt like I was already in the frame of mind (wanting to keep it on the down low). Guess this gave me the reassurance I needed

You walk in and say “you suck as a boss, I’m under paid for the value I bring, and you can kiss my rear. Adios.”
