You know it was a toxic job when you quit and you know you're about to go through serious financial upheaval and have no regrets.

I’ve never had a problem leaving a bad job. People need to learn their worth. If you got hired once, you can get hired again.

In my opinion, if you're thinking about resigning without another job offer, it's already enough

When looking back, I've never regretted leaving a job, but I have regretted staying too long.

I quit a toxic job recently. There was someone who had a seizure and he came back a few weeks later. Fast forward he ended up in hospice and passing away about a month after that. The company replaced him almost immediatly and they even ended up SELLING company. Moral of the story, Do what you love. Life is too short.

6. When the managers never call out the lazy workers and instead make the good workers do extra work in order to compensate for the lazy workers.

I quit my job this morning. No prospects. I can go a few months without a pay check. That's the beauty of saving. I feel so liberated. When I breathe I can actually feel the pressure released from my body.

Another problem is that you really can't talk about a toxic job you just left because potential employers will think you're just a whiner and won't want to hire you. There seems to be no way to expose these companies and their bad management practices.

I have had several toxic jobs since college but one really broke me. It was a major fortune 500 organization. I have never seen such dysfunction in a workplace. I started going to therapy on my lunch break. My therapist was like the fact you are seeing me on your lunch break is basically the universe screaming at you to get out. I quit eating, developed stomach issues and had a splitting headache constantly. I was turning to alcohol to cope in the evenings and that was when I knew it was time. That was all I needed to hear but I decided to "stick it out" for a few months. This was a mistake. I was humiliated in a meeting one day and accused of a mistake on a report I did not do. I was done...I got out and it saved my sanity honestly. No job is worth your mental or physical health.

Mental health is far more valuable than ANY job I learned that the hard way.

People often feel guilty about leaving a job because they don't want to disappoint their boss or co-workers, or they feel like they are screwing the company over or what if they can't find someone to fill my spot etc. but here is the thing, if the tables were turned, and getting rid of you helped their bottom line, they would do it in a heart beat. Your employer is not your friend. Your employer is not a charity. They don't pay you out of the kindness of their hearts. They pay you because you work for them. Your relationship is transactional. You owe them nothing other than the hours you work and that's it. Most companies will even throw loyal and seasoned employees under the bus to save their bottom line. It happens all the time. So NEVER feel guilty about leaving a job.

Before my mum died from cancer, she told me that stress brought her cancer on, and if I was ever in a situation of living or working in stress, I should walk away. Well, life is crazy a couple of years ago. I died on the operating table and was brought back. When I was on the other side, I was very angry that I had wasted my life worrying, toxic people and toxic environments. Fast forward to today. I ended relationships with all toxic people and environments. Live your life so you do not waste it. Ps I am so greatfull that I have the opportunity to let people know this.

The real problem is the simple fact that most jobs out there are toxic and not as humane as they should be. That’s why more people are becoming independent more than ever.
