2 years on January 25th! I’m 43, and this is the longest period of sobriety since I was 14. I can honestly say that 2024 was the best year of my life.

I’ve quit a dozen times. Always came back to it but I’m now one day sober again and hopeful this time. Its never really been a super hard thing for me to stay away from but I also quit weed so I don’t risk losing my job and that is what will probably make it harder for me this time around. I found your channel yesterday and felt inspired. Gym two days in a row, too. Looking forward to this healthier life I dream of living!

I watched your video about giving up alcohol on 1 Dec; it just randomly popped up, I had no intention of giving up alcohol, I'd never seen your videos before but I was nursing a horrendous hangover from the night before. I watched it thinking how inspirational ... but it was December and how could I not drink in Dec? Then your comment that "if I could not drink in Dec, I could not drink any other month of the year" struck me and I decided there and then to stop drinking. The office party was the following week and my anxiety about getting drunk too easily and being "too much" & embarrassing myself melted away and I began to embrace the idea. Xmas was easy, I felt calm and in control and enjoyed my Xmas dinner for the first time in years after not having had champagne for breakfast as usual on Xmas Day! This is the best decision I have made for my health in a long, long time. So I just wanted to say thank you and if nothing else, you have inspired one person here to quit alcohol! Just realized I'll have to change my profile pic now 🙂

Ironic I came across this video today because I decided that today (February 1st 2025) I’m giving up alcohol for the month (28 days).
I’m not a heavy drinker just constant, each day, and in intend going back to enjoying my scotch and a cigar but only once or twice a week.
Looking forward to it as I can see the benefits of better health and productivity even by cutting back.
Best of luck everyone for 2025.

I’m also 2 years sober and it’s been game changing. 42 years young now. The scariest thing for me is looking back and realising how naive I was not understanding how much of a negative impact alcohol was having an every aspect of my life. I was existing at 50% of *my* potential, and now I think I’m at 90%. The best bit is, I’m still improving and ‘recovering’ from 2 decades of regular drinking. Life is getting better not inevitably worse like it was as a drinker.

Thanks Alex I am 6 months along now and I would never give up my new benefits of losing my anxiety, getting a deep sleep, better workouts, more wiggle room with keeping my calories in check, loads of spare disposable income! I was averaging £500 per Month.

I quit smoking weed over a month ago and stopped drinking two weeks ago. I wasn’t a heavy drinker—maybe 5-6 beers a week—but it left me feeling tired and depressed. Now, I have way more energy, I feel so much better, and I’ve even started eating healthier. Everything just feels clearer and happier now.
I'm proud of myself for making these changes. I know sobriety won’t always be easy, but I’m committed to not going back. This is my chance to learn how to handle life with a clear mind, and I’m ready for it!
