You forgot to mention that you cannot “target” fat in one area. As you loose weight it will go down everywhere. So not just on your belly.

It's also really important to know that even people who have super sculpted abs or a perfectly flat stomach don't keep that throughout the day. Anything you eat or drink will make your stomach less flat and abs less pronounced. Some models will literally dehydrate themselves to show off their abs more or make their stomach look flatter.

Great tips Cassey! I hate planks so much, id rather do anything else hahaha! I live how you say diet and genetics play also a huge role. There are certain foods that can make you bloated, specially if you are intolerant to them. My belly always gets big as a balloon when i consume diary products.

Also have to consider bloating and just eating in general. You might have some visible abs in the morning but they might disappear by night time and that's normal. This affects some people more than others too, but it is still normal to have changes in the expanding of the belly due to food.

i've had personal trainers over the years, run regularly, and eat fairly healthy and was content with that but once i started blogilates over quarantine, i suddenly got abs for the first time in my life - totally unexpectedly! - and now i'm addicted <3

The truth about about getting abs... you've always had them. Just get to a low enough body fat percentage. Whether that is through diet or exercise, that is the only way. Exercising the abs directly are not required and can be done simply as a supporting muscle during other exercises.

Growing your ab muscles will do the opposite of make your stomach appear flatter. Your going to gain size, and that’s a good thing. Growing muscle means GROWING. Also cardio won’t burn fat unless your using it as a method to achieve a calorie deficit. Finally, you should train your abs the same way you’d train legs or biceps: use exercises that you can progressively overload, such as weighted crunches, and try to increase the amount of resistance your using over time. That’s how you’re going to get visible abs.

For me diet ended up being the biggest factor. I was doing really tough workouts for several years and one day my roommate just asked if I wanted to join them on a month long processed sugar fast and honestly I was surprised. I wasn't even aiming for a better body I was just doing it to help support my roommate. I just thought my body was not the type to get abs.

Yeah the last thing is really true bc I do have some weight on my belly which covers my abs but in certain angles the top part looks like, really toned? Idk
