Depends if you want bulky abs. They're a muscle that can grow. Sometimes you see big guys with abs. But you'll likely look more blocky

Well training abs is still just as important as every other muscle group. You just need to be lean for them to be aesthetic - unlike, say, arms, in which size might compansate for lack of definition. Also if you're already relatively lean ab training can help grow the abs so you don't need to be _as_ lean to have visble abs.

This is kind of dangerous advice that I’ve been taking from different YouTubers over the past few years 😂
It’s true that your abs might show when you cut down the body fat, HOWEVER you still need to train your abs and core to make sure it stays strong.
A weak core can cause bad posture, etc.

If you want to reveal your Abs, be in a calorie deficit. And if you want your Abs to look thick and well developed, you need to work it out by doing sit-ups, etc.

You do need to be in a caloric deficit to get abs, but an exercises do help build a strong core and make the abs pop.

Absolutely true, but there are benefits to training your core (especially with progressive overload with a cable for example).

If you want to have more stability for deadlifts and squats having a stronger (operative word stronger, not more visible) core/abs is really nice, also if you want to learn some calisthenics skills like the l sit and such a strong core is crucial.

But still thank you kasey for your honesty

Training abs and obliques is part of having a strong back, especially lower back, so that you may do deadlifts and squats effectively. Sure a caloric deficit will have them show up but the "bulky" or "blocky" look is caused by other things (wink, wink) and not due to training them.
