These covert narcissists are secretly envious of the competence, intelligence and general goodness of their target person. They internally admire and are in awe of their target ...but secretly try to destroy the very soul of the other person. I've seen it happen. In extreme cases it truly is soul vampirism. Kind honest unsuspecting souls must become conscious warriors and be informed...then avoid these people. Thank you Peace and Harmony for your work.

so is the issue really staying involved with them for too long...and if I had some how unraveled and left my narcissist parents long ago.. I would not be sitting here in pain today??!!!

Thanks so much for answering this question Peace and Harmony! I think the hard part is identifying if your feelings are completely valid towards this person if you're already suffering from dissociation, depersonalisation in particular, as this already makes you doubt your thoughts/feelings. The irony is it could be the person who you're trying to work out that gave you the depersonalisation. Any advice if this person is a family member who has supported you through you're whole life in some manner? e.g. a parent ??
