Hey thanks for sharing our video Matt, great points!

Abdullah did a very good job staying calm cool and collected when I threw the "Make it quick". Like you said that would send many sellers into a panic.

The thing I noticed about the best cold calls is the SDR follows conceptual advice and not tactical advice.

Conceptual advice - ask permission from the prospect before going into your pitch. Ask questions to learn about their problems.

Tactical advice: Have XYZ vocal tonality, don’t have an upper inflection, etc.

The problem with tactical advice is that it makes you self conscious and your natural personality doesn’t come across.

If you listen to a highlight reel of these “best cold calls” each SDR has totally different tactics. One is silly and goofy, another is serious and assertive, another is “nice guy vibes” like this caller.

They’re not trying to alter their natural vibe.

Not sure if I’m explaining correctly but does that make sense.

I knew that asking for permission was good but didn't know it's good to do throughout the call as well

Matt seeing this video made me think of something, would it be a crazy idea to do something like this?

SDRs or folks breaking into tech call you & you throw 3-5 objections at them & who handles them best wins

I thought it was good, but still a little salsey. Critique my opening:

Hey John… it’s just Kyle with XYZ, I’m wondering if you can possibly help me out for a second

Ok, and I’m not sure just yet if you can. I’m wondering… are you experiencing [common problem] still?

Oh you are? Well you might be a good for us we would just have to ask for example…

Qualifying question 1, 2, 3…

Ok based on what you told me there’s a decent chance this could [outcome they want], would you be opposed to a [set the meeting]
—————

I like that more than “I’m gonna be honest it’s a cold call, can I tell you why for 30 seconds…”

This already puts the prospect in sales defense mode. If you start off more neutral/ curious and not pitch to think it will disarm the prospect more

Thoughts?

Hi Matt, I found your email. would it be ok for me to send you my script and tell you who I'm with? I would just like to get some feed back on what your thoughts are on my script - I know you're great at what you do and your feedback will help me out a lot! If it's not ok I completely understand.
