Entered the sales field almost exactly 5 years ago to the week. After spending about six hours cold calling people unsuccessfully for my last call I was so frustrated I stopped trying to sell. I basically told the guy… “I’m sure you want to hang up because you weren’t expecting my call. I’m sure you don’t need my product because you have another source. And one other comment I don’t remember. He stopped me mid-speech and asked me what I was calling about because he might need it. He’s my biggest client today. So much psychology in sales. Matt, I know this is an older video, but after today I felt compelled to comment. I watched it last night around 10pm. I woke up this morning and made around 57 calls. I had about 25 connects, and I used the second script (or a variation of it) every time. Literally, 100% of the time I was allowed to speak. I even got some laughs and one guy said, “well, hell, now I’ve got to hear you out.” And every single time I was allowed to continue beyond my prop statement. I made some great contacts and now have some legitimate suspects and leads! So, THANK YOU!

Dude I used your first line in a role play for an interview i did today and the interviewer LOVED it, he thought it was so creative and I just wanted to say thanks for letting me borrow it haha

From 10 years experience as a stockbroker can honestly say Matt’s approach and execution is excellent. This guy can be an instructor for most investment banks / sales organizations. Even if his own application doesn’t net great results, which i strongly doubt, his explanation; tonality and delivery were presented flawlessly. . Straight up I’ve been using the second line for all my calls this morning. Connect rate is WAYYYY higher and they actually tell me thank you and they appreciate me being forward. Solid resources. Thanks dude!!! You’ve earned a like and a sub

I've always wanted to adopt the mentality of entering a cold call without giving off that "fishy salesperson" vibe that all of us get put off from, however within the company I work for, the scripts that they urge not to stray away from too much makes me a bit anxious trying to do so. Gonna give the second line a try today, hopefully this is what I needed to get past the cold calling plateau!
